Spectacular thick walled, heavy cylindrical glass vase by Edwin Ohrstrom for Orrefors. Vase depicts a Gondolier playing a guitar on one side, and a female figure with flowers on the other. Upper rim has closely spaced vertical air traps all the way around. Colors are in rich shades of blue, purple and honey-amber. Vase measures 6.5 inches (16 5 cm) tall and is 4.75 inches (12 cm) in diameter, weighs 11 pounds. Vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs...

American art pottery puzzle mug by George E. Ohr. Circa 1915. Mint condition. This mug is fashioned from terra cotta colored clay covered in a striated brown glaze. Impressed on the underside "G.E. Ohr Biloxi Miss." The handle is adorned with a stylized rabbit's head, and the rim, handle and sides are perforated with a pattern of holes. This proud fellow stands 14 1/4 inches (36 cm) tall and is 8 inches (20 cm) from wing tip to wing tip, and 7 inches (18 cm) deep to the tip of his tail. He is made of clear glass with a few white and silver inclusions, with lattimo belly stripes, and reddish-brown back stripes, his eyes, beak and feet are of black glass. No chips, cracks or repairs. Sold. Very Desirable Sterling Silver Letter Opener made by the Watson Company of nearby Attleboro Massachusetts with c 1910 hallmarks. Just think, at this time only about 1/3 of college students were women and only approx 5% were physicians! What New England college bound young lady of that era received this as a gift? Weighs 1/2 ounce on a postal scale. 5 1/2" X 7/16" wide. Very nice condition for age.
