This is a rare pair of sterling silver candlesticks made by the esteemed Mauser silver manufacturing company of New York, New York between 1887 and 1903. The candlesticks are 8" tall and the base measures 4 1/2" in diameter. The stem is weighted, and the bottom is fully hallmarked. One of the candlesticks was expertly repaired at the bottom of the stem just above the base. There is an Old English letter engraved on top of the base, your guess is as good as mine as to what letter it could be...

Large Murano Elephant performing on a Ball, attributed to Nason. Executed in clear glass. The elephant has a wonderfully expressive face as he stands on his hind legs with his trunk out-stretched. The ball has two rows of bubble inclusions (13 bubbles in all). The figure stands 17 inches (43 cm) Tall and is 4 1/4 inches (11 cm)across and 8 inches (20 cm) deep. Chinese export porcelain bowl circa 1790 a beautiful example with hand painted floral sprays and a scalloped decorated rim. Measuring approx. 9 1/4 inches in diameter and 4 inches deep in excellent antique condition for a piece of its age with a couple of barely visible faint hairline stress cracks in the outside glaze probably from cooling in manufacturing and one minute flea bite on the outside rim (see pictures). A Satsuma lobed plate with hand painted chrysanthemums bamboo and a pair of birds circa 1900. This antique small dish measures 5" across and has typical fine gold decoration over the work and a notched or lobed gold trimmed edge. It has a signature on the back, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, losses, damage or repairs; it has some fine overall crazing, which is not unusual with Satsuma pottery. Items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use...

This is an antique fukusa (Japanese gift cover) that the design came from the old folk tale called Urashima Taro. It is the story of a man who rescued a turtle from a group of cruel children. The turtle, who happened to be a princess of a dragon palace in disguise, returns later to thank him. The turtle invited him to tour the undersea world to her palace. He spends many days wined (with sake, I suppose) and dined, forgetting the time...
