This is a wonderful and rare French Napoleon the third Rocking Horse. It was made circa 1880. The same cast iron head was used on Tricycle model as well. Impressed numbers include 2144 and P 503, and in addition to the Gouda Holland marks written, the number 2144 is at the top, with KL 503 and what are likely the artist's initials in a rectangular cartouche JVS. Wonderful champagne ice bucket, or "seau" circa 1950's/60's, from France. To advertise their product, champagne houses would give these buckets to restaurants as a point of sale item, they were not sold. This bucket was never circulated - it is NOS (new old stock). By the London silversmith, John Keith, this ornate cream jug was made in 1853. The hallmarks are all clear, and include the silver standard, Queen Victoria, the date mark and mark of Keith. It measures 5 1/4" high and is 4 1/4" wide from tip of lip to handle. Lovely rococo repousse designs, with the base standing on four feet in the shape of hooves.
