An astounding and extremely rare sterling pill box in the form of an articulated fish by William Spratling.The head of the fish opens to reveal a 1" deep compartment to keep whatever you wish. Spectacular fish earrings by Carmen Beckmann are 2 1/8th inches tall and are solid gold. Properly hallmarked 14kt and also Beckmann. Such tiny eyes of green stone that sparkle. No damage displaying a treasured past. The scales are remarkable and life like with movement. The etching and repousse had to be a work of love to work such a tiny space. A Maestro from the Spratling era but with a Mexico City designation and with a conjoined HT hallmark built this necklace of thick silver weighing approximately 77 grams. The silver pearls are without dents and may show reflections. The length is 15in. and height is one inch tall. It lays smooth against the skin and for a shorter necklace that is worn higher up it feels barely there. Striking presence, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Very nice size, measuring 2 5/8 wide and 2 1/8" high, good weight. Stamped 980 on back, with Made in Mexico, no maker's mark. Likely Taxco work, and the 980 silver standard was used in earlier works, prior to 1950. The face mask depicts a warrior with headdress, ear spools, and facial adornment, a pre-columbian image often found in Mexican art and jewelry. Has visible tarnish, especially in recessed areas, and shows wear and abrasions to silver surface...

I have always seen this signed Aguilar but it has been thought to be a Valentin Vidaurreta design. It is thought to resemble a Mask and is a sleek jewel at 5/8's inches tall and weighs a mere 27 grams of thick silver. The silver is 940 pure and with no damage but plenty of glare. There is a natural dark patina.

This is a spectacular sterling and green stone necklace and bracelet by Felipe Martinez. His workshop , Piedra Y Plata, opened in 1950, was considered by his peers to be one of the best silver shops in Taxco. Signed La Estrella Taxco 980 this lotus pectoral is an exceptional work. Several artists created the Lotus design. The Taller of La Estrella produced the most beautiful pectorals and they are rare. The shop was only in business in Taxco for around 2 years. Not much is known because they were not there long but everything I have found has been astounding. This lotus has broader sweeps with the pectoral wings and the S links are longer than other makers. The drop is 4 inches long and 5 in. across...

Designed by Matilde Poulat this repousse' and chased sterling silver necklace was created at the Matl Salas Taller in Mexico City. Weighing 121 grams the necklace measures 20 inches long. The central rose panel with 7 cascabeles measures 3" high X 2 1/4" across. The necklace is all original and in beautifully cared for condition. Fully hallmarked for the designer & period on the back panel. Matl designs are included in the permanent collections of many museums including LACMA & MFA Boston.

This is an extraordinary sterling bird pin/pendant by Salvador Teran. It is a magnificent example of his fascination with overlapping planes. The front feathers stand out in front of an oxidized background and the tail feathers move freely and swing. This is a large piece measuring 3 3/8" long and 1 3/8" wide. It is in fine original condition, weighs 26 grams, and hallmarked and numbered as shown. It is a remarkable example of this artists' imagination and creativity.
