This is a handsome 19th century Cromwellian-style armchair with wonderful leather embossment and hand carved figural arm supports, the rectangular green leather padded back with embossed country theme of floral and fauna, a similar embossed padded seat with a center griffin, one of the barley twist arm supports having a carved bearded male bust, the other with a female bust, the legs are joined by barley-twist turned stretchers, all original, this chair has excellent color and patina...

This lovely French nailed head French Club chair could be the model of what all the people trying to copy French Club chairs would want to use. A Victorian Walnut Key Stand or Box, with brass key holders numbered 1-36. The original key works to open the box. Made by E. Parks, Fleet St. London, with a brass label dated May 14, 1859. The wood is stamped Thomas Bradford, and the label of the wholesaler is attached, E T Fisher. The dimensions are 13.25" wide x 11.75" tall x 4" deep. Excellent condition.
