An unusual and interesting straw glazed porcelaneous incense burner. The three footed bombe censer with barbed, loop handles on opposite sides along the waist flaring to a broad rim. The interior reveals the pot was built from coiling and smoothed without before glazed and fired. Good condition for its type and likely age. Antique late 19th century red lacquered wood Hsun-Ok offering vessel from Burma. Size: 27 inches ht. x 15 inches diameter. Probably from Pagan region, with two registers of laid-on decoration below the spire and a series of hand-turned balusters on the pedestal. Minor damage to cover.

Large Thai bronze Buddha head with serene face and downcast almond eyes, curled headdress, flaming usnisa, and elongated ears. This small stoneware bottle was made during the 9th -10th Century. It is coated in a very pale and finely-crackled greenish-white glaze that has flaked from the surface in places, this being typical of early Khmer glazes. The body is a little under-fired, being absorbent, and has fired to a pale pinkish-white where unglazed toward the flat base. On opposing sides of the shoulder are two small thick loop handles. A set of Mandarin squares, comprising a front and a back, dating around 1900. Insignia for a court official's wife, with appliqued silver pheasant bird, denoting the fifth rank. Gold and silver metallic threads couched on violetta silk, lined with blue silk. Condition: traces of age, little faded, back badge with short tear (please see photo # 10), lining little stained. A rectangular silver box rich in high relief of dancers in costume. The detailing of the human forms and the patterning on their costumes is finely done. The background of the dancers is done in open-work silver of a pattern of swirling leaves and tendrils. At the bottom of the box is a large hand-hammered mythical Asian chimera (Makara). The box weighs 740 grams.

Fine & Rare Large Burmese 13th - 15th Century Celadon Glazed Dish with Incised Elephant
This large stoneware dish was made during the 13th - 15th century. Wares of this type were undoubtedly influenced by the large Chinese celadon glazed dishes made at the Longquan kilns during the same period. It is heavily-potted and coated in a pale green glaze that is silky-matt in feel and appearance.
