A carved wooden box with removable lid revealing a container for matches and tobacco slotted in the side to carry a Kiseru pipe. Exquisitely crafted by a man who both understood design and wood grains, it is likely from the arts and crafts era. It is 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 5 inches (14 x 9 x 13 cm) and is in overall fine condition, with wear to the base attesting to age.

This is a very rare and highly desirable Changsha kiln 9th century Tang Dynasty bird water dropper. Usually these are characterized by such components such as under-glazed yelow-brownish and green motifs with molded design in relief, appliqué designs or impressed designs in relief and also incised or carved designs. Chinese late Qing dynasty (19th century) front-opening Han style lady's jacket embroidered on the front and back in silk polychrome thread with clusters of flowering plants and butterflies on a dark cobalt blue silk satin ground. Much of the embroidery is executed with the “forbidden stitch.” The sleeve bands are similarly embroidered with flowers and Buddhist swastikas on a white silk ground. An old ghurra showing a seating protector beating the drum , such design evokes the shamanic influence. The shaman is surmounted by a ram. Super black soot patina, Obvious signs a important use. H 25 cm , the protector is 13 cm height.
This is a great archetype of ghurra, showing an interlace of ropes which local name is netti, so in some areas "Netti" becomes the generic name for Ghurras. This ghurra demonstrates a great carving achievement with incredible signs of use. H25 cm wide 8 cm , thickness 5.5 cm

This appears to be an incarnation of Shindara Daisho of the 12 guardian deities (Juni Shinsho). He has glass eyes and stands on the original Daiza.. The Deity is 21 inches (53.5 cm) tall, total height with stand is 33 inches (83 cm). Later Edo period (18th-19th century). The left hand has been replaced.
A nicely shaped large Yuan Dynasty incenser in light green celadon glaze with ribbing design to exterior. Small visible imperfections and small chips to glaze on rim and a small one to underside of one foot. Also, a faint hairline is visible on side of incenser. Diameter: 5 inches; height 2.50 inches.
