This is a small earthenware Sui dynasty (A.D 581 - 618) lotus design comestic box. It has three small rounded compartment. The top part shows the lotus bud, pods and leave. The three flowers below are shown as three small comestic boxes in melon shape.
Aside from some abrasions, there are only minor chips at the base (picture 6). Other than that, it is in good condition.
The measurement of the yueyao comestic box is: Length 8.3cm and the Height is 5cm.
This traditional style handwarmer has split handle with copper fittings. All around the body is a subtle etched design which is now difficult to see because of the heavy patina. Makers mark is on the bottom. It shows signs of heavy use. Approx 5" across and 4" high with handles extended
Description: A strand of rosaries was assembled by 108 pieces of old Zhi-Tan beads. Among them, old coral and elephant bone beads were decorated. Old beads were getting hard to find. All these beads were believed from Tibet, now were ingeniously strung as a decoration item.

Han Dynasty Cocoon Jar (206 BC-220 AD). The distinctively plump, ovoid form of this jar, imitating the shape of a silkworm cocoon, has a fair amount of the original paint remaining on the body. Characteristic swirling cloud / scroll designs in reddish-pink and white cold-paint pigments decorate the surface. This jar is in very good, “as excavated” condition with no visible repairs, one chip to the rim of the mouth (see photos), as well as some burial dirt still attached...
An haunting 17th century sumi-e image of a goose at twilight by Kano Toun (1624-1694) in the original Edo silver threaded brocade border patterned with clouds, upper and lower extensions of heavy coffee colored cloth ending in ivory rollers. The almost complete dominance of white seems to convey a passage through space, from clarity into obscurity, leaving the viewer with a slight sense of loss echoing in ones memory...
From the CongJiang in Gui Zhou province, this drinking horn is carved from water buffalo. It is a thick (and heavier weighted horn) which, according to my Miao friends is considered an inferior horn. So, this piece would have been owned by a "Poorer" family. It is wonderful primitive art object with carvings that are full of symbols reflecting Miao culture and legends. Description: An exqusite wood carving depicts magpies on plum branches. With skillful craftsmanship, two birds playing within knaggy branches was naturally carved on the construction of the openwork.
An example of Chinese traditional wood work. A reserved inlay piece was believed 'cause grooves were obvious on the reverse side. Possibly a relic of a pendant and can be recovered as one after some new inlayed work.

This large embroidered money belt was used by Miao man for festival. The front face has delicate embroidery which is chain stitched over a black velvet background. The rear is padded and quilted home spun, indigo dyed cotton fabric. There are several areas between the different fabrics which are used as pockets for the storage of possessions. Very good condition, circa 1900-1910. excluding belt loops piece measures 21" across and 13 inches high
This child's headpiece was from a very high status, wealthy Chinese family. Basically made of 3 pieces of shaped and intricately carved leather, it was made "adjustable". Heavily decorated with additional carved elements, dragons, beads and pompoms, it still has most of the original gold paint. This is a rare treasure. approx 6" x 3.5"
Description: A decent scholar tray was in quite large size and was kept in very good condition except some old abrasions on the surface. Framed with rare Suanzi wood, the main bottom board was made of beautiful Inn-mu wood (burl wood). The patina was good while regular lines were carved on the reverse side of the bottom board and curves were shaped to the rim. Scholar tray were used to display scholar items and curiosities when the art lover would like to cherish them at hand's reach...
Description: A magnificent brush pot was made of Nan-mu wood in 18th century. In an imposing manner, this brush pot was carved with imitation of a wood trunk. Left with original wood patina and some crackles amid the surface, this brush pot was kept in good condition except loss of the bottom board. A later made bottom was added firmly on it. Description: A beautiful Longquan celadon cosmetic covered box was excavated with perfect condition. With charming lake-green glaze and evenly applied crackles and bubbles, the box was set with shallow dishes inside and molded decoration on cover. The excavation evidences were obvious when observing at hand in details which were hard to reveal in my pictures. And THE TRUE BEAUTY IS ASTONISHING IN REAL THAN IN THE PICTURES as well...

This is a fine ovid yingqing meiping, It is designed with a simple incised line without the engraving of any motif. The meipimg is divided into four equal segments all divided by two parallel incised lines. Within all this incised lines, the greenish glaze can be seen pooling at the recessed part. This is a fine, beautiful and brightly coloured example of a small “Jun” ware bowl which was treated as a “manufacturing defect”. The bowl is well glazed in a bright lavender colour with pooling of a bright blue sky glaze at the base of the bowl. It would have been a fine piece if not for an overglazed which has resulted in an overflow of a big pool of the glaze down to the sagger. Description: A dark black glazed bowl was found from a shipwrecked hoard of South East Asia. Produced probably from Fujian kiln, this beautiful black bowl was preserved with original charming glaze condition only with one minor glaze defect
on the mouth rim. This bowl had been cleaned meticulously with boiled water and ready for real use. Some coral adherence were kept for authentication and for original mood.

This is a medium-size Liao dynasty (907–1125A.D.) moulded polychrome earthenware plate with leaded glaze. It rests on a short foot rim, a flat everted base before rounding up. This is a Song dynasty (960 – 1276 A.D.) white glaze stem cup. It rest on a flared foot rising inwards to a short neck and then towards a everted u-shaped cup. It has a simple abstract cloud like wave motive between two bands of lines. This is a Song dynasty (960 – 1276 A.D.) Henan splashed bowl in Russet brown colour. It is conical in shape with a flared rim, supported on a very short foot. The centre of the bowl is covered with lustrous black glaze with splashed brown streak radiating from the centre. At the bottom of the bowl, there is minute traces of iridescent silvery colour (pic 3). Description: A beautiful covered metal box was delicately chased and carved with traditional Chinese scenes like pagodas, mountain ridges and pine troves as main picture on the cover's surface. Added more with good metaphors like bats, chrysanthemums and flying magpies on the box's outer surface, this alloyed box therefore became a nice cosmetic holder for the use of a fair lady. With tightly fitted cover, the box was in very good condition.
