Motifs of flowers and branches were finely incised on the inner wall of the bowl and subtly revealed under the glaze. This "heavily-potted" stoneware jar, complete with its original cover, was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). Like most Tang jars, its form is particularly pleasing.
