Chinese Qing dynasty Guangxu period cylindrical form rouleau vase with a narrow columnar neck and cupped rim, decorated overall in gilt with cranes flying among stylized lucky clouds set against a powder blue ground. A band of lappets extends around the circumference of the base. The angled shoulder is encircled by a band of bats and scrolling foliage. Two underglaze blue concentric circles are on the white porcelain base. The vase stands 14 1/4” high and dates from the late 19th century...

Description: An old wood incense utensil's holder was intriguingly carved from one original wood trunk. Making use the fine quality Huali wood, the scholar piece was rendered delicately on the top around the rims of the hole and around the top. Being preserved with the original old patina, the wood scholar item was in good size of 16.3cm in height and in perfect condition. Date: Qing dynasty(19th century), Height: 16.3cm. A large Ukibori vase covered in iron with yellow slip raised imagery of birds in a pomegranate tree by Ito Tozan I enclosed in the original signed wooden box dated 1917. It is 16 inches (40 cm) tall 10-1/2 inches (26 cm) diameter and in fine condition.

Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "The Great Buddha in Kamakura" by Okuyama Gihachiro (1907-1981) dating 1949. The artist's black ink signature and red seal are in the lower left corner of the image. Two red seals of the publisher Kyoto Hanga-in and Shinagawa printer are beside it in the lower left margin. Spiraling lines and wispy trees rise up to the heavens in this convoluted landscape by Fujimoto Tesseki dated 1855. If one looks carefully, it is fun to see the artists playful choices of colors, not apparent at first, like the blue trunk on the central tree at the base of the painting...

An extremely fine bronze Koro in the form of a mythical Kirin by Living National Treasure Katori Masahiko (1899-1988). Masahiko, a graduate of Tokyo National University of Art, went on to an illustrious career. Unlike his colleagues, he produced very limited numbers of his pieces, often only one. As this piece is not numbered, I believe it also is a one of a kind. It has a rich, green patina that lends age to the work, actually most likely no more than 30 years old...

An inscribed very heavy blackwood chest. The inscription states that it was given to a high official as a gift. There are two dragons carved on the front panel that probably had protruding heads that are now missing. Size: H. 36cm. L. 36.2cm. W. 28cm. Condition: No repairs.

Thai 14th - 15th Century Underglazed Sukhothai Bowl

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sukhothai kilns during the 14th - 15th century. The striking floral / geometric pattern is in underglaze iron-brown on top of a white slip. The honey-coloured clear glaze is finely-crackled. The glaze is at its thickest to the upper surface. On the underside the glaze is thinner and has degraded in places leaving a matt surface. To the centre are five "spur marks". The base remains unglazed...

A blue and white glaze water dropper in mandarin shaped. Age: Anamese, circa 15th century Measurement: Height 6 C.M./ Width 8 C.M. Condition: very good with fault firing on the base and on the neck.

A pair of large mixed metal birds on a custom black lacquered table by Iwase Seifu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled So-Hato Okimono. Excellent detail, the birds are life sized, the strutting male figure signed on the posterior is roughly 9 inches long, 8 inches tall. Both are in good condition, with some wear to the silvering.

A Southern Song Jizhou black glaze covered with slightly thick dark brown - black glaze unglazed base. Song Dynasty ( 12th - 13th centuries , Jizhou central Jiangxi province. Bowl is in good condition with 2 fritting on the rim and 1 hairline. Size: 12 cm diameter, 8 cm height.

A fine, 20th century Fukagawa Seiji vase. Delicately decorated with bird in branch and lightly colored blossoms all against a pale blue background. Rim crisply defined. Fuji and four character mark inside broad foot ring. Good condition. 9 1/2 inches tall (24.1 cm)
