Chinese Qing dynasty Daoguang period (1821-1850) geyao type porcelain censer of compressed bombe form with thick flat rim and two animal-mask handles at the sides. The pale gray glaze, covered overall with the characteristic black and brown crackles, completely covers the interior of the censer and the exterior of the ringed foot and extends part way down the interior foot of the recessed unglazed base. A very rare Chinese Nanmu scholar's table chest. Nanmu wood has been used in China since the Han dynasty and is very prized by collectors as it is difficult to find. This small intricately carved stone shoes were probably given as a gift of well wishing. 3 inches in length, they were carved from unidentified soft stone, not hard jade. There are numerous cracks and chips from age, but the shoes retain their original carving detail.

Kendi, with rounded sides, bulbous spout and tall neck decorated outside with floral scroll and plantain leaves on the neck with metal mount, glazed base. Description:

A Jizhou bowl was characteristically yielded on the surface with striking kiln effects(Yaobian).
Transparent and in flowing look, the glaze was suffused with mix tints of milky brown blue and white colours.
The bowl was finely mold in typical Wan form when flat bottom with shallow foot ring was supported underside.
Frets were found around the mouth rim and old crackles were rendered in the glaze due to age.

A Jizhou tea bowl was rarely found in white glaze.
Two brush maneuvered characters Yue Xuan, or Moon Chamber were in the cavetto being a fine mood.
The bottom was mold in flat base when whitish body clay was revealed with brownish burial earth.
It was really rare to find a Jizhou ware in white glaze and also with inscriptions which in nice meaning on it.

Rare Edo period Japanese namazu-e (earthquake fish picture) woodblock print featuring a giant human-like catfish receiving punishment after being found guilty by a judge for causing the Ansei earthquake of 1855. A group of human-like catfish watch as the punishment is being meted out. In Japanese mythology, it was believed that giant catfish living underground caused earthquakes with their thrashing movements...

Golden mist shrouds the aged pines draped with wisteria growing about the crashing falls on this anonymous early Edo period gold screen. A rare scene to find, rigid lines and the lavish use of gold are typical of the first half of the Edo era. The screen features a colorful brocade border with vermilion lacquer frame and has been fully remounted without re-painting. It measures 68-1/2 x 63-1/2 inches (174 x 162 cm) and is in fine condition, showing some old repairs.

A white-glazed incense burner was supported by three squeezed and applied foot.
While being decorated with iron-oxide spots on the surface, the incense burner was nicely applied with two curved loops on the rim.
It was turn-wheeled when molding scars were easily observed on the body.
The belly was clamped into as gourd shape and make it in a unique look.

In rice-white tint of the glaze from which infiltration of incursion was observed, the ewer was applied with arched handle and two loops.

It was rarely found a Qingbai ewer with a melon-shaped body.

Brown jade pig dragon also known as Zhulong in Chinese. These pieces are extremely rare. Probable a later type but not a fake. It is well carved and would make a nice pendant. Size: L. 7.5cm, W. 5cm

This purse would have had a shoulder strap attached and would have been used by an adult female of the Chinese Yi ethnic minority group. All hand stitched with cross stitching embroidery and other techniques, hand made cording (string) knotted across the bottom. The bag is lined with home spun had woven fabric made from "fireweed" plant. Back is unadorned.

Description:

A Yueyao water basin was in form of a squat turtle.
Well applied with characteristic greenish celadon glaze on the surface, the basin was sit on the flat bottom which was un-glazed and was revealed with the grayish-tinted body clay.
It was preserved in perfect condition and was well cleaned by ex-collecter intended for practical use.
Minute old frets and incursions were found on the glaze when slight crackles were rendered.

Description:

A pair of Qingbai porcelain ducks or water fowls was nicely mold.
By luting from two halves in the middle, the fowls were depicted vividly in details as well as in postures.
Iron brownish slip was decorated to the eyes and the beaks.
Due to age, icy crackles were rendered in the glaze when burial earth was amid within.
The pairs were sat on square platforms from where marks of cloth paddings were observed at the bottom.

A stunning box covered entirely in mother of pearl upon which is the crescent moon in lead under maki-e gold florals. Inside Rimpa style dear rest in lead and gold maki-e on a ground of red-tinted Nashiji. The box is in excellent condition, likely dating from the mid 19th century. It measures 22 x 24.5 x 5 cm (8-1/2 x 9-1/2 x 2 inches).
