A large Yuan dynasty longquan celadon charger. It is decorated with the incised flower on the center and cavetto. It is in very good condition except restoration to the 3 cm x 1 cm missing part on the rim. Diameter: 36 cm.

This is a superb Bunraku puppet of the historical figure Minamoto Yoshitsune, one of the lead characters from the Tale of the Heikei and legendary fighter in Japan. The doll is incredibly mobile. Head moving up and down, his eyes open and close and move left to right. His eyebrows can be raised and lowered, and mouth opened or closed, all from toggles inside his kimono on the extended neck piece...

Birds in white plumage decorate the shadowed raw clay of this vase by Miyagawa Kozan enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 21.5 cm (8-1/2 inches) tall, 19 cm (7-1/2 inches) diameter and in excellent condition.　
The name Kozan was granted by Prince Yasui-no-Miya in 1851 in honor of the tea ware produced during the later Edo for the imperial Court by the tenth generation head of the Kyoto pottery family Miyagawa Chozo...

Chinese Qing dynasty compressed globular form porcelain brush washer covered overall in a rich flambé glaze with a jun-like quality. The base is has an applied bronze wash and the foot rim is unglazed. The edge of the rim is bordered with a thin, geyao type crackled white glaze. There is an old collector’s tag on the base. 19th century. 4 1/8” diameter by 1 1/4” high. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This piece is from a Sun City, Arizona collection...

Description: A porcelain snuff bottle was beautifully painted on the surface with insect of grasshopper in the weeds. On the other side, a well-rhythmed poem was finely written to depict the picture. It was in perfect condition with original dipper on top. An inscription mark Qian-Long-Nien-Zi was at the bottom. Date: Qing Dynasty(19th century). Height: 7.9cm.

Kokeshi, wooden folk toy of NE Japan. Height: 13.5". This example is of "Tougatta-kei" tradition, generally made in Miyagi Prefecture. But, this particular artisan, Ouhara Masakichi, lived in the city of Noboribetsu in Hokkaido. Ouhara-san was born in 1907 and passed away on June 8th, 1982 (Showa 57.) Rare Chinese Neolithic Machang / Banshan Painted Pottery Jar

This unusual pottery jar was made over 4,000 years ago during the Machang Phase (c. 2300 - 2000 BC), or possibly the earlier Banshan Phase (c.2600 - 2300 BC) of the Majiayao culture, also known as the Gansu-Yangshao culture, from present day Gansu or Qinghai province. It is quite thinly-potted and highly-fired, made from a pale yellowish-brown pottery...

A Jindezhen ware Shufu type Monochrome washer, covered overall with creamy brownish tone. Yuan dynasty 13th-14th century. Condition is very good, no crack, only minor tiny flake to unglazed rim and free from any restoration. Diameter: 12.5 cm.

Flattened rim dish decorated with two foo dogs on the center, glazed base. PERIOD : Early Ming (1400-1487 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 20 cm wide. CONDITION: very good, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

Porcelain with two lion mask handles covered by brownish celadon to the foot , glazed base. PERIOD : late kangxi (1662-1722 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 15 cm wide and 8 cm tall. CONDITION: no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

A good Japanese studio porcelain celadon censer (after Chinese Song dynasty examples), of kinuta color, by Suwa Sozan. Seal impressed on the bottom between the three legs with unglazed feet. With an even more extraordinary, finely worked silver cover with gilt highlights (eyes, beak, comb, feather details, hollyhock blossom stamens.) The treatment and the details of the hollyhock leaves down to the veining and insect nibbles is sublime...

A blue & white bowl, decorated outside with "Three Friends Of Winter" they are Prunus, Bamboo and Plum and inside with Chrysanthemum flowers. Ming dynasty 15th century. Condition with two visible hairline and invisible restored two chips at rim, further in good condition. Diameter: 14 cm.

Description:

A Jizhou bowl was characteristically yielded on the surface with striking kiln effects(Yaobian).
Transparent and in flowing look, the glaze was suffused with mix tints of milky brown blue and white colours.
The bowl was finely mold in typical Wan form when flat bottom with shallow foot ring was supported underside.
Frets were found around the mouth rim and old crackles were rendered in the glaze due to age.

Porcelain covered with celadon glaze, glazed base. PERIOD : late Ming (1566-1643 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 23 cm wide. CONDITION: excellent, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

A fine Ban Chiang pottery bowl in very good condition no restorations original polychrome decorations. Measuring approx. 5 inches tall a museum quality piece.

This is a Song dynasty (960 – 1276 A.D.) white glaze stem cup. It rest on a flared foot rising inwards to a short neck and then towards a everted u-shaped cup. It has a simple abstract cloud like wave motive between two bands of lines. On the underside, the white glaze flow stopped short at about half way down the stem exposing the light buff colour stoneware. A nice piece.

There is no repair or restoration. No chip or crack...
