An unusual Japanese blue and white porcelain koro, presumably Hizen production. Clearly Japanese with Mon alternating with flowering karakusa on the rim, and the body decorated with almost Nabeshima like cloud and tooth borders enclosing a broad tako-karakusa background featuring peony blossoms on cylindrical form with inverted, broad rim. Five spur marks appear on the glazed foot with no rim. Very good condition. About 3 1/16 inches (7.78 cm) diameter. About 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) high.
A beautiful Chinese export porcelain famille rose medallion large center bowl circa 1900. The bowl hand painted with traditional rose medallion motif of floral and butterfly designs plus mandarin figures and court scenes. Measuring 12 inches by 4 inches deep in excellent condition one minor restored flea bite to rim and some wear to enamel. A fine example.
Limited edition Japanese woodblock print by Clifton Karhu (1927-2007) titled "Winter Driveway." Pencil-signed and titled, dated '78, and numbered 19/100 in the bottom margin. Paper size: 12 1/8" x 11 7/8" (image: 9 7/8" x nearly 10"). The print was never framed and is in very good overall condition. There is possibly some faint discoloration to the paper from age. A nice Longquan Celadon jarlet with two handle, decorated incised with a Dragon to body, covered overall with olive green glazed. Yuan dynasty 13th/14th century Longquan ware, condition is very good near perfect, no crack, no chip and free from any restoration. Height: 7cm.
A spectacular set of bira-bira-kanzashi hair pins in the form of cranes among blossoming plum and pine formed of silver which come enclosed in a custom made silk-lined wooden box. Two are 13 inches (33 cm) long, the other is 9 inches (23 cm) long and all are in fine condition. According to a label inside the box they are from Akita City in Northern Japan, sold by Takeyaso Hon-ten. The box is 15 x 17 x 5 inches (38 x 43 x 13 cm). A beautiful robins’-egg-blue gu-shaped vase with ring handles and engraved decoration by Ito Tozan with the original rosewood stand dating from the early 20th century (c. 1920). The pale blue bleeds to white over the high points of the decoration, the florals raised about the bulbous center and highlighting the rim and edges of the beast head handles. Meanwhile pools of dark shadow the fretwork emanating up and down the body...

A large Kiji porcelain vase with florals (stylized millet?) in raised relief by Miyanaga Tozan enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The architecture and infinite care shown in the carving on the surface proves this to be a superb piece deserving of the name of one of Kyotos top porcelain artists. The vase is 10-1/2 inches (27 cm) tall, 11-1/2 inches (30 cm) diameter and in excellent condition. Miyanaga Tozan I (1868-1941) is one of the most important names in Kyoto ceramics...
This unusual necklace is made from horn beads (presumably goat). The "hook and eye" ends act as a clasp and are also from goat.
