A good Japanese studio porcelain vase with decoration of egrets among lotuses. The egrets in no-outline, reverse out decoration against gradient blue background. The beaks and particularly the eyes (with yellow fill) picked out nicely in fine detail with black. The loti also with no outline and contrasting nicely against the fading blue. The foot with three iron spurs spaced evenly along the unglazed ring foot and an errant iron smudge near one under the glaze inside the foot...
This man's quilted hat would have been worn in northern China. The pattern of the quilting on the crown of the hat suggests a mongolian influence. The long sides and rear flaps are heavily padded and are each extensively quilted with a large flower and diamond background. These flaps would be worn down to protect the neck from the bitter wind, or tied up on milder days days. The silk on the outside is in excellant condition...

By the dark chocolate-brown glaze underneath, strings of bead-like mottles were decorated in the cavetto.
On the outer surface, whitish brown effects were randomly yielded.

This old Chinese needle case would have been worn as an ornament somewhat like a chatelaine. The body of the cicada separates to provide housing for very fine embroidery needles. The silver work is very high quality with pierced work on the upper body of the bug.

Golden threads are woven into a home for the large three-dimensional spider crawling over the scrolling edge of this caramel-colored dish dating from the Meiji era. It comes enclosed in an age darkened wooden box titled Akahada Kashibachi (Akahada Sweets dish). It is roughly 16 x 18 cm (6 x 7 inches) and in excellent condition. The clay is consistent with the sandy texture of Akahada, however the color is quite unusual.

By a very fine condition, the bronze deity was reserved with the original patina of the painted gold leaf and the enduring old and darken bronze sheen.
Sitting on the legendary holy beast- Hong, the Guanyin was in a easy-posture with one leg resting on the back of the animal and with another leg stepping on the lotus pedestal.
She was heavily cast by fine quality of bronze and was carved by brilliant crafts...

This toddler's pants were used by successive siblings and probably several generations of Chinese Miao ethnic minority children. The pants are of handwoven indigo dyed fabric and the legs are decorated with handwoven tape which is sewn into place by hand. The pants are crotchless, which was typical attire for very young children throughout old China.
