Vajradhara or Dorje Chang in Tibetan is the ultimate primordial Buddha or Adi Buddha according to the Gelug and Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism. This fine example is from Tibet or possibly from Nepal. It is well proportioned and has very nice facial features. Please note the fine engraving on the back of the figure. It is in a very good condition with normal age wear, a nice patina and remains of polychrome. H. 23 cm. From a Dutch private collection.

This is a small Chinese Blanc de Chine libation cup, incised character mark at base, carved and molded with flowering prunus and animals; 2 _" high, 4" wide.

Large late Qing dynasty Guangxu period lidded porcelain ginger jar decorated in underglaze blue against a faint bluish-white background with four “shuangxi” symbols (indicating double-happiness and wedded bliss) surrounded by a stylized pattern of pencil style scrolling sweet pea flowers and vines (symbolizing “many children”). A bud forms the finial. The interior and base are glazed but the foot rim and mouth are unglazed...

Chinese Qing dynasty ink and color on silk painting in the imperial court style depicting two birds on branches set against flowers by Ma Jiatong (1865-1937). A very rare and large rootwood scholar's rock. China, 19th century. H. 37,5 cm (excluding stand. Condition: Beautiful wear and patina, there is a crack in the upper hanging branch (see pictures) but it has not been broken or restored. The front of this Tibetan wooden snuff bottle is covered with silver repousse ornamentation. The back is surface is also silver.

A large and heavy Chinese cloisonne bowl with gilt rims and wire, enameled at least with nine different colors. Decorated with flower medallions and clouds, the interior with bats around a "shou" character. The outer rim with a ruyi head border. This is a Chinese 19th century pale-blue glazed vase, bearing the Yongzheng seal mark , of ovoid form with applied handles; mint condition; 8 " high.

Description:

A refined pottery Cheng-Ni inkstone was preserved in very good condition.
By elegant round shape and arched moon-shaped inkpool, the inksone was thick and was hefty in weight.
Old frets and scars were observed and also proved its old age.

An antique, splendid hand painted 3-1/4" high lidded dresser or vanity jar, possibly for powder or storage. This Japanese Royal Nippon item features lush gold trim with jewelling and it depicts finely hand painted red and pink roses with foliage. It is signed with a Japanese seal signature on the bottom. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of light gold wear and a couple of small paint misses on the lid...

Japanese Meiji period three-case boxwood inro carved on the front with two oni or animal creatures peering out from the trunk of a tree. The back holds a bearded man holding a sword or knife. All three have inlaid eyes. A wood ojime bead and a netsuke in the form of a smiling tiger is attached to the string.
