The artist's black ink signature and red seal are in the lower left corner of the image. Two red seals of the publisher Kyoto Hanga-in and Shinagawa printer are beside it in the lower left margin. Ewer of pear-shaped form, decorated with molded chrysanthemum and prunus blossom, the lower section border with lotus petal lappets, covered overall with a pale greenish Yingqing glazed to the body. Yuan dynasty 13th-14th century, Jindezhen ware. Condition is perfect.High: 10 cm.

 

Three fine 20th century Japanese lacquer trays. Each with boats and pine decoration in gold tones upon a dark brown ground. The trays gradually bowed and of square shape but with slightly curved sides and raised on four, shaped feet. 11 1/16" x 11 1/8" (about 28cm square). Reasonably good condition with some light abrading easily enough cared for by a specialist.

Together with another, 19th century tray (bottom portion of a box now missing its cover) with beautiful cranes decoration...

This old carpenter's detail handsaw was clearly home made by an experienced carpenter craftsman who took pride in his work. It is decorated with delicately carved swirls of clouds and has metal fittings for strength. It has the original blade which was sharpened to cut on both forward and back strokes and is still remarkably sharp. This saw was (according to my carpentry friend) was probably used for fine marquetry work. The saw measures 11" long. It is a rare find and a pleasure to own.

A rare celadon stand, covered overall with light grayish glaze. Southern Song dynasty 13th century in good condition. Diameter: 10cm and High: 4.1cm.

Description: With at least 400 years' enduring age, this brushpot reflected the beautiful patination of restrained dark brownish luster. Huanghuali wood had always been a prestigious material used by noble people in Ming and Qing dynasty. This brushpot was made of Huanghuali in a plain and elegant shape. The removable board underneath was preserved as an original piece instead of a replaced one and covered the entire bottom as a typical style of Ming dynasty...

A patinated bronze okimono of a young woman with a beautiful face, dating around 1910. On her back a large basket and in her hand she was carrying a tool. Signed "Seiya" on the base. Dimension: 29.5 cm high, weight: 2.4 kg. Condition: tool broken off, few tiny areas with wear to the patina.

This ancient conch shell bead from the Pyu period and dates back to around the first century. It represents the emblem of the voice of Buddha preaching the laws of his doctrine, and occurs as one of the auspicious signs on the "Footprint of Buddha". Size: L. 2.2cm. Condition: No repairs. In the enlarged photos you will see the natural faults of the stone but is not very noticeable with the naked eye.

Nice example of Southern Song Zhejiang Longquan censor with two handles. Condition is broken re-glued with a missing pieces. Height: 7 cm.

 

Description: With incurving rim, a small Jun bowl was shaped elegantly. In two purple splashed strokes, the bowl was added with more charming atmosphere. Being glazed over all inside and outside of the surface, the bowl’s foot ring was left unglazed in a firm and regular shape. Incursions were amid the glaze cracks when earth was adherent to the pinheads of the burst bubbles. Date: Song or Jin period(AD960-1234). Width: 9 cm

An extremely rare form of b/w jar, finely potted in square lobed shape, decorated to each panel with a flower medallion among single cloud scroll to each corner. On the top side has a nice collaborate between ruyi and pomegranate pattern. Ming dynasty Zhengde period (1506-1521), this kind painted style motif also found many similar pattern in vessels to the case of ordered pieces from early 16th century by Portuguese market...
