Fine & Rare Chinese Neolithic Siwa Culture Burnished Black Pottery Jar (c. 1350 BC)

This rare pottery vessel was made over 3,000 years ago by peoples of the Siwa Culture (c.1350 BC) from present day Gansu or Qinghai province. It is attractively-shaped with high handles, a saddle-shaped mouth and a wide body that tapers down to a small circular flat base...

This is an old Yogi, a futon/blanket for the colder parts of Japan. It is a thick cotton dyed in the "Japanese blue", ai/indigo with a tsutsugaki (freehand painted rice paste resist) family crest on the back and stuffed with a cotton inside. The whitle little spots that you see are cutton balls from inside. The condition is excellent; some faint brown stains on the right side bottom and the lower left side bottom of the inside which is giving a charactor to this beautiful piece...

A rarely encountered occupation era original Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Tanigumi Temple, Mino" by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) dated in the lower left margin Showa 22 (1947). The artist's black ink signature and red seal are at the lower left corner of the image. The 6mm circular seal of the publisher Watanabe (used 1946-1957) is at the lower right corner. Paper size: 15"V x 10 1/4"H (image size: slightly over 14 1/4"H x 9 1/2"V). Very good overall condition...

On brown silk gauze finely embroidered high ranking nobleman's court robe. In polychrome and couched gold threads nine five clawed dragons, one dragon hidden on the underflap of the garment. The mythical beasts chasing for the flaming pearl among clouds, bats, peaches and the buddhist precious things. The bottom of the textile is decorated with waves and stylised rocks. The sleeves worked in pleated dark blue silk, ending in horsehoof cuffs, side-fastening overlapping closure with metal buttons...

A very unusual huanghuali scholar's container made of one solid piece of wood. There is no plug at the base. These types of designs are very desirable for collectors of huanghuali pieces. It probably had a lid. Age: 18th century. Size: H. 7cm. W. 11.7cm. Condition. No repairs. Some old minor chips on the rims.

Small kamcheng painted in attractive pink, green and blue enamels and decorated with flower and peach fruits; red stamped marks on the base. Period : Early twentieth Century. Measeurement : wide : 6.5 cm, Height = 7 cm. Condition : chips to the inner lid, no other damages.

A Jianyang hare-furs tea bowl was in very good condition.
In regular size, the bowl was stand on a well-defined foot ring.
Characteristically both on glaze and on the body clay, the bowl was in decent look with clear and charming hare-furs effects.
The hare-furs were in short-hairs' type which was an exact depiction for the animal's furs...

Oversized limited-edition Japanese "sosaku hanga" woodblock print by Tamami Shima (1937-1999) titled "April Forest." The bottom margin is pencil-signed, titled in kanji, dated 1962, and numbered 67/100. Paper: 22"V x 15 7/8"H (image: 19 7/8"V x 13 3/4"H). Very good overall condition. April Forest is written in pen verso (see enlargement 5). From a Scottsdale, AZ estate. Originally purchased from M. M. Shinno & Associates in Los Angeles.

Bowl decorated with continus floral scroll on the exterior, glazed base. PERIOD : Middle Ming (16th Century) MEASUREMENTS: 7 cm tall, 14.5 cm wide. CONDITION: very good, a tiny frting to the rim, no cracks, no hairlines and free from restorations.

Antique Tibetan gilt iron fittings with open-work decoration. Three buckles and four hooks in the shape of a vajra. Condition: some rust. Dimension: approx. 11.2 cm and 8.8 cm long, weight: 260 g.

This is a Chinese Blanc de Chine libation cup, on a stand of molded branches, the exterior carved and molded with flowering prunus branches; 3 " high, 5" wide.

 

Description: An aigrette in stylized standing form was actually carved from a piece of natural root wood. In beautiful style, the aigrette twisted her neck when standing on a rock which was from another natural wood piece. As a traditional craftsmanship, this unique wood carving was in quite good size and would be an attractive display item in your house. Date: Qing Dynasty (late 19th century) Height: 51cm, Width: 40cm, Depth: 24cm.

Description: A big wood plank was originated from an old traditional Chinese architecture. Decorated with high-relief carvings of scenes as scholars, goats, monkeys and trouts, this wood tablet was looped for hanging. Date: Qing Dynasty(18th Century) Material: Camphor wood. Length: 100cm Height: 45cm Depth: 8cm Condition: Basically in good condition but with some old restorations on the faces of the figures.

Blue and white charger with two horses and tree decoration. Qing Period. D = 28 cm. Perfect condition, no chips, cracks,hairlines or restorations.

Comprising a censer, 2 vases and 4 cabdlesticks. The censer and the two candlesticks in the center belong together, the other items were matched. H. Between 18 and 21 cm. Condition: the censer and the two candlesticks in the center are in a very good condition, even the separate handles of the censer are intact. The other two candlesticks and one of the vases have repairs to the corners. This set came from a Dutch private collection and was brought together in Beijing in the nineties...

Blue and white dish decorated with prunus blossom on the interior, and mark on the base . Qianlong 18th century . Width = 26 cm. Condition : Excellent, no chips, hairlines, cracks and free from restorations.
