Fine Chinese Neolithic Machang Phase Painted Pottery Jar (c. 2300 - 2000 BC)

This very attractive pottery jar was made over 4,000 years ago during the Machang Phase (c. 2300 - 2000 BC) of the Majiayao culture, also known as the Gansu-Yangshao culture, from present day Gansu or Qinghai province. It is made from a pale yellowish-brown pottery and is fairly highly-fired that has undoubtedly contributed greatly to its survival in such good condition...

Chinese crackle glazed robins egg blue vase 19th century. A beautiful tall slender form with long neck in excellent condition a minor chip on the bottom under the foot. Measuring approx. 14 inches tall a fine example.

The pottery body covered with a white slib and a creamy white glaze, painted in brown with a poem: ' Gentle Breeze, Light Drizzle, Yellow Flowers and Red Leaves.' Diameter 18,5 cm, H. 7,5 cm. Good condition with normal age wear and firing flaws. Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368).

Japanese mixed metal bronze censer with gold silver and brass inlaid details of a rooster and hen with chick and a blossoming flower motif. In excellent condition no damage some slight variations in bronze patina. Measures approximately 7 inches tall or 18 cm. a fine form with tripod feet. This is beautiful example of Japanese Meiji period metal work.

A very rare and unusual seal of a mythical animal made of pottery. Age; Ten Kingdoms. Size: H. 5.2cm. W. 3.5 x 3.5cm. Condition: Some loss of the white slip and a chip on the horn.

This necklace is comprised of 31 stone pre-columbian beads, in varying shapes, sizes and colors. The necklace measures 19 1/2" long. Between 15 and 20 beads have a green color, the others are faded into cream and beige, a few are brown or black. The flat disc shaped black stone in the center measures roughly 26cm across and is backed with a green speckled disc. The large tubular beads measure between 7/8" and 1 1/4" (33cm)...

Very fine Hupa or Yurok basketry cap, in rows and bands of varied colors, tightly woven, in very good condition, early 20th century. Measures 7 3/4" x 7", the opening is roughly 6 7/8" 5 5/8". Note that the cap is slightly oblong, and the measurements are how it sits, could measure otherwise if opening stretched a bit. The basket has 11 rows of design, aside from the center area, and is comprised of colors of beige, tan, and dark brown...

An antique Guardian mask used to ward off evil hand carved from a rough slab of hardwood. It is 14-1/2 inches (37 cm) tall and in fine condition. Usually hung under the eaves of a house, it shows weathering typical of age. Late 19th to early 20th century.

Measuring 7 1/4" high and roughly 3" wide, this Japanese cloisonne vase is of exceptionally high quality, with very fine detail and shading, all with silver wire. Against a smooth black background, a group of irises is depicted on the front, with a single iris and leaves on the back. The irises are white, purple with blue and yellow details, and the leaves are all done in shaded hues and different colors...

Signed in black ink at the lower right and with the artist's red Kiyoshi seal above. Unlimited edition dating circa 1960s. Paper size: 11 9/16" x 17 1/8" (image: about 10" x 15 1/4). Very good overall condition and color with full margins. The print is very lightly sunstruck and there is a small faint browned spot in the center bottom by the margin...

Six different antique ceremonial spoons used during Hindu worship for offering holy water to deities, from Maharashtra. Made of brass or bronze, the largest spoon in "ganga-jumna" technique (brass and copper). Three with cobra, two with lotus bud and one with dancing Krishna final. One with short inscription. Rare TALL Chinese Liao Dynasty Stoneware Jar (AD 907 - 1125)

This rare stoneware jar was made during the Liao Dynasty (AD 907 - 1125). It is particularly "heavily-potted" and coated with a thick and uneven olive-green glaze, both inside and out. In places the glaze has not vitrified properly leaving a matt appearance. The mouth has sagged a little to one side during firing. The flat base remains unglazed revealing the pale pinkish-brown body.
