A rare design of Ming dynasty blue & white bowl, decorated at the exterior with lotus, rocks and cloud scroll on the back ground of waves pattern, interior with a rosette design in the center and key-fret border around the inner rim. Ming dynasty 15th century Xuande-Zhendong period. Condition: restored one nail chip and glue locked to associated crack line (enlargement 5), crackled clay body in well balance shape. Two rare Chinese Song dynasty qingbai (yingqing) glazed porcelain dishes of chrysanthemum form with thinly potted bodies, an upturned rim divided into twelve lobed petals by vertical ribs, and flat, slightly concave unglazed bases. Circa 10th - 11th century. 4 1/8” diameter. There are a few tiny flea bites at the rim which are visible under magnification and there are a few old hairline cracks that appear to be stable...

Description: A black Jianyang Temmoko tea bowl of Song Dynasty was intriguingly transformed into a whitish tint by natural burial's incursion. In typical black body of Jianyang kiln, the tea bowl was applied with shear black glaze before being affected by the incursion. In a still slippery feel on the surface, the rare bowl showed itself a charming piece. A similar piece was in a loan exhibition from MOA Japan at The Museum of Fujiang Province. Ming Dynasty (1368-1643) Chinese blue and white porcelain baluster form vase with wide trumpet mouth decorated with a blue prunus motif. 9 1/2"H. Excellent condition. The irregular edge of the base is the typical result of the removal of the vase from the kiln. It is not a condition problem.
