A Jizhou jar was applied with beautiful tortoiseshell glaze on the surface.
In nice condition, the glaze was yielded with finely spread crackles.
The characteristic soft paste was revealed in beige tint.
The jar was used as a water coupe for scholar work or a tea power mixer in tea ceremony.

A fine Longquan celadon bowl, decorated with relief of lotus petals to exterior. The interior is plain, covered overall with nice powder green glaze. Base unglazed. Southern Song dynasty 12th-13th century in perfect condition. Diameter: 12.6cm.

A nice shaped of Southern Song dynasty Qingbai bottle vase, covered overall with slight grayish white glaze. 12th-13th century in very good condition, only minor chip to mouth and foot rim, otherwise no crack and free from any restoration. Height: 24 cm.

Description:

A white-glazed incense burner was mold in stem foot.
Wheel-turned in flat circular rim and with trumpet foot, this porcelain ware was in form of the characteristic metal counterpart of the dated periods or earlier.
It was in perfect condition with only one minute dent on the rim. It was caused before glazing.
Obvious burial characteristics were preserved for verification.
An old auction tag was kept.

A Yaozhou shallow bowl was in decent look with persimmon glaze.
The glaze was covered all over the surface except to the foot ring.
The foot ring was shaped in domed edge and was revealed with the body clay in gray tint when stingy-feel burial adhesives(BaoJiang) was preserved on the tip of the foot ring for verification.
The glaze surface was reflected in retrospective sheen in old look.

Children gathering Sansai mountain vegetables, a stunning Taisho period silk painting by Nishikubo Kunko. Three young girls wear indigo dyed country kimono, their forearms and shins protected from the grass and brush and heads covered in white scarves, straw sandals on their feet. They carry voluminous bamboo baskets as they move along the reed covered water’s edge, perhaps in search of fuki (Butterbur). The scene is performed with heavy pigment on silk, in completely original condition...

A dish of raised barbed lotus form with a moulded ribbed cavetto decorated in underglaze blue with gilt outlined enamels dating to circa 1740-70. A Momoyama-early Edo period gold screen depicting a happy god of fortune drinking while being pulled by deer in his elaborate wagon through a rocky landscape. The paper is wrinkled and creased with age, and the color worn, exuding a great sense of antiquity. The bold patterns and rich texture of the Edo period brocade border amplifies that feeling. The screen is 22-1/2 x 56 inches (57 x 142 cm) and has a shaped lacquered wood frame retaining antique paper backing with some repairs.

Cranes flock to the shore, greeted by their compatriots grazing among dry winter grasses on the wave lapped beach of this anonymous pair of Mid Edo period six panel screens. Performed with Ink and pigment on paper with scattered gold flake in a blue silk border with kuwa (mulberry) wood frame and sturdy blue cloth backing. Fully remounted, each screen is 65 x 142 inches (165 x 361 cm). A quintessential Kano style Edo period scene.

The fabric of this Japanese kimono is made from the very finely spun bast fibers processed from the banana like tree common on Okinawa. The delicate kasuri pattern which was woven into the fabric is typical of garments from the region. Bashofu cloth of varying quality was used for many garments which were worn by all classes in Okinawa since the sixteenth century.

A fine, Japanese lotus form negoro lacquer kobako (small box.) Kobako are typically associated with incense but this box could serve as a natsume (tea caddy) though with a comparatively loose fitting lid. The lotus form bowl with typical negoro rubbing of the iron red lacquer to surface to reveal some of the black lacquer beneath. The interior a rich, deep red color. The cover with caramel colored lacquer and lacquer chrysanthemum decoration in colors suggesting bronze and tarnished silver metal...

Korean Silla period, 6th century A.D., glazed Pottery Pedestal bowl with pierced decoration on the pedestal traces of celadon color glaze on the interior measuring approx. 6 inches tall ,or 16cm. A beautiful example in excellent condition it would be a fine addition to any collection.

 

 

A large b/w dish, decorated with Kraak style of a pair Dragon to the center. Outside is plain. Ming dynasty 16th-17th century Swatow family or Zangzhou wares. Condition with single hairline crack to exterior, but being Y shape to interior, minor fretting to rim. Diameter: 38cm.

This traditional Han child's silk hat is wonderfully embroidered with floral scenes around the brim, butterflies and birds around the sections of the crown, while tassels accentuate the upturned morterboard. The long draped wind protector section at the back shows fade line...otherwise the hat is in excellant condition.

Most probably a part of a belt. Made in the forbidden stitch. L. 70 cm W. 10 cm. Expected age wear. Late Ming, ca. 16th/17th century.

Antique Chinese Miao Ethnic Minority wrap belt used home spun yarn, hand dyed and woven. It is over 100 years old. Rare piece. Approx 152 inches long not including fringe and 3 inches. It is in good condition, has obviously been worn (used) and is a bit dirty in some areas. This is a rare piece and looks really good draped back and forth in a clump.

A pair of Jianyang hare-furs tea bowls was well mold in fine shape.
In evert mouth rim, the bowls were stand by circular foot rings.
Characteristic of smoothened surface was found at the foot ring where the body clay was revealed. It was caused due to age.
Incursions were also found on the mouth rim.
They were in lovely sizes- very hard to find on the market, but ideally for tea ceremony.

Well potted with tall size and small foot rim, decorated with nice cobalt-blue of two large Dragons chasing pearl among cloud scrolls at exterior. The interior with a pair Dragons and one medallion in the center. Da Ming Jia Jing Nien Zhe six characters mark and of the period. Condition broken into 5 large pieces + 3 nails size small total 8 pieces, after re-glued, these are two tiny chips and one flake chip. Ming dynasty 16th century. Height: 10.6cm and Diameter: 16,5cm.
