Something I have never seen before, a set of pillows for one couple from Shimabara, one of the oldest pleasure districts of Kyoto, enclosed in the original Kiri-wood storage box. The man’s pillow is a simple roundel of soft leather. The woman’s, made for a geisha and her elaborate coiffure, is a small tapering black lacquered box with a drawer for a hair pin, to the top of which is secured a brocade pillow with a silk chord...

Chinese Qing dynasty Qianlong period round form deep plate decorated in underglaze blue on a celadon-white porcelain ground with two deer standing in a rocky landscape under a pine tree with a bat flying at the upper left. Bats and deer shown together symbolize blessings and wishes for high rank and official salary. The pine is a symbol of longevity. Four bamboo leaf sprays are at the outer rim. The foot rim and base are unglazed. 18th century. 11” diameter x 2 3/8” high...

Lovely lacquerware inro, decorated with fish an seashells. With a coral ojime and a carved cinnabar lacquer netsuke. Meiji period (1868-1912). Signed at the bottom. Measurements: the inro 6x5,5 cm, the netsuke 3x2 cm.

Made of gilt brass, 2 with gilt brass balls, the others with glass balls. One finial with chips to the glass, one finial lacks its attachment disk and one finial has been mounted on a brass foot. H. 5-6,5 cm. Ca. Late 19th century.

Depicting saints or deities. H. 20 cm. Expected age wear, one figure is lacking its hands. Mounted on custom made stands. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

Description:
A beautiful Ewer pot was well glazed in yellowish slip.
In nice profile, the Ewer was well potted in decent form.
Fine crackles were yielded due to age.
Some abrasions were found on the surface and at the foot base.

A nice Tibetan 108 bone prayer beads with two leather counters from Lhasa. The bone is most likely yak bone. It has two turquoise spacers and silver counter. Acquired in Lhasa, Tibet over 15 years ago. Size: 40cm X 2.

A very rare and large repousse and finely engraved box. On the lid many figures in a garden in front of a palace, on the side scenes of warriors. Diameter 15,5 cm , height 7 cm. Weight 720 grams. Excellent condition with normal age wear. Late 19th/ early 20th century.

A beautiful large black Seto Guro Hikidashi Chawan with undulating rim sculpted to perfectly rest in the hands by some anonymous 17th to 18th century potter. It is 5 inches (13 cm) diameter, 3 inches (8 cm) tall and in fine condition.

A circular pale celadon jade pendant, carved and pierced with a parrot perched on a flowering prunus branch. A quite identical plaque was sold 8 November 2013 by Christie's, London South Kensington. Condition: fine. Dimension: diameter: 5.2 cm, approx. 0.3 cm thick.

The compressed globular body resting on low foot, surmounted by a tall cylindrical neck with everted rim, covered overall in a lightly bluish - green glaze, the unglazed footrim burnt orange in the firing. height 16.5 cm condition : crack line from the rim, and star line on the body. A pair of Japanese Edo Period Ko-Imari porcelain choko. Polychrome enamel decoration of chrysanthemums and Paulownia. Buff tone along the rims. Fuku marks centered inside the foot rims. Diameter almost 3 3/4 inches (9.525 cm). Height 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm). At least early 19th century. Good condition.

A unusual rare well carved jade pendant with a stylized head of a Zhou pig on top and tapering down into a fang or a claw.. The upper part of the jade is of a black and tan color and the tail is translucent. There is a hole at the back of the mouth for stringing. Size: L. 4.7cm. W. 1.2cm. Condition: See last photo.

Chinese porcelain plate finely painted in Qianjiang enamels, showing a temple in a hilly landscape. Dated, inscribed and signed Tinghui (apparently Fang Tinghui, active late 19th century). A Japanese blue and white koro with all over cartographic decoration of the Japanese Islands, with provinces labeled, and other bodies including seas and land masses with countries labled. The name used for Korea uses the name Joseon which dynasty (established in 1392) ended by varying accounts between 1897 and 1910. The censer could be later still. The cover with Shishi lion pierced finial over the compressed spherical tripod censer with stylized handles...

Rectangular composite panel of antique embroideries from the Ottoman Empire. The basic fabrics are different plain weaves, embroidered with silk and few metal wrapped threads, composed and sewn together in the Ottoman city of Salonika or Kavala. For similar example please refer to "Textiles of the Islamic World" by John Gillow: page 31 with illustration. Condition: allover good, occasionally little losses to embroidery. Dimension: 113 cm x 118 cm.

The circular dish made of fine milky white porcelain decorated in overglaze enamels as iron-red, blue, green, yellow, black and gold. The well painted with a prunus tree, coiled dragon and ho-o bird. The reverse with scrolls. Condition: fine, the green enamel with partial spalling. Dimension: diameter: 20.9 cm.

Straits Chinese silver hallmarked adjustable mesh belt with a three-part buckle decorated in low relief with a fish among flowers. The back of the buckle contains two hallmarks with Chinese characters (see enlargement 4). 19th century. High grade silver weighing about 8 oz. Measures 34" long from end to end. A Mandalay Buddhist votive domed covered alms bowl with glass inlays. Age: Early 20th century. Size: H. 48cm. W. 20cm. Condition: No repairs.

Lacquer covers the natural curves of this wood tray for use in the service of Sencha leaf Green Tea. It is 10 x 14-1/2 x 1 inches (25.5 x 37 x 2.5 cm). The bottom shows wear typical of use.
The importance of Sencha in the late Edo and Meiji periods cannot be overlooked, and has been studied in depth in the book Tea of the Sages, the Art of Sencha by Patricia Jane Graham.

Description:
A fine and nice tripod censer was applied on the surface with black glaze.
It was in decent look by well proportioned body with three supporting feet.
The feet was shaped with well-executed skill by apparently a bamboo cutter or some hard tools.
'Cause obvious scraping scars were left at the feet trunks.
The scars were also approved by a documented piece.(See last picture.)

To the left of the bird is a red “Dayazhai” (Abode of Great Refinement) hallmark. To the left of this mark is a small red oval panel holding two dragons and the script “Tian di yi jia chun” (“Heaven and earth are united as one family in spring”)...

A superb Sajigawa stone of deep olive patina, completely natural, on a carved rosewood base and enclosed in a fine old straight grain wood box. Notice the entirely natural arch growing between the two spires. This is incredibly rare and a fine prize. This would be considered a house shaped stone, reminiscent of a farm-house and its adjoining out-building, a covered passage between. Saji stones come from the Saji river in Tottori prefecture...

A very rare painting of a skull and scattered bones lost to autumns dead grasses by important 20th century Zen priest Takeda Mokurai. Ink on paper bordered in brown cloth with gray extensions; dark wood rollers. The scroll is 16 by 68 cm (40.5 x 172.5 cm) in fine condition.

She was well preserved in warm patina and was in nice condition.

An old wood stand is included. That makes the height to 19cm.

The detacheable central Tirthankara surrounded by other Tirthankaras, two elephants holding his princely parasol, his throne supported by two lions. On the back there is a lengthy inscription, holding the date 1674 in Samvat, which is 1617 in the Western calendar. The shrine is inlaid all over with silver. H. 28 cm, W. 19 cm. Condition: some old damage and an old repair to the thinly cast back of the stand. Otherwise in wonderful original condition.

Large and heavy piece, 500 grams of silver, finely cast and in good condition. Diameter 12,5 cm outside and 7 cm inside. H. 10,5 cm. Made in the first half of the 20th century. Marked on the inside with an "M".

This Mughal piece was made of a zinc alloy inlaid with flower patterns of silver and brass. A silver inlayed bronze incense burner by Inami Keishu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) tall and in fine condition. Inami Keishu worked in metal for more than 60 years. He has been often exhibited and prized with the Nihon Kogei Kai (National Crafts Association) among many other National Events.

These 6 barefoot maidens are elaborately costumed in traditional ethnographic clothing lots of bangles with bangles, and each is playing a different instrument. They stand approximately 8-9 inches tall. a few are missing a bangle and a few have very small dents in the metal work...metal is assumed to be very low grade silver tin combination.
