Stunning Antonio Pineda Mexican modernist silver and black onyx necklace, this too is wrought in the maestro's favorite fine, .970 alloy in a variation of his "crescents" design. There isn't much one can say about Antonio jewelry, at least not more than a few good photos can say, but let me express my admiration for the magical way he articulates his creations so as to sit perfectly where they should and at the same time showcase the design's sculpturality in the best possible light...

Perfectly carved obsidian teardrops with shimmering golden depths and high purity silver combine in this modernist Antonio Pineda set of dangle earrings. There is an innate elegance in the way the silver embraces the volcanic glass, like slender flames of a hot fire emanating from black coals. In the darkness, you only see the silver; in the light it is only the obsidian that catches the eye. Antonio at one of his best moments, I believe...

A Napco Japan figural anthropomorphic mustard salt pepper cruet set 1950s 1960s. This decorative and whimsical set consists of the teapot shaped 3 piece mustard pot (lid, spoon and base), the apple or peach shaped salt shaker and the cup or creamer shaped pepper shaker. Antonio Pineda's striking design speaks volumes with this .75in. wide concave link. It is wonderful stacked with other Pinedas as he did in his adds or with the silver bead pearls necklace shown in the pictures already listed on my site. It is comfortable at almost 7 in. wearable and you can make it more oval or round (which ever you feel more comfortable in) because of the design of the hinges. This bracelet is heavy walled at 112 grams of quality...

Vintage assembled set of Antonio Pineda bracelets in a mod, minimalist design that features deeply carved semi-spheres out of each bangle's perimeter, with the empty areas oxidized to add drama to an otherwise simple form. I am very partial to sets of bangles and this pair wears comfortably with its discrete musicality reminding you of its presence. The bangles have an inner circumference of 8" and their width is 1/4"...

Margot Van Voorhies worked with enamel of the most unusual beautiful color and design. Her work is compiled in the book THE ART OF MEXICAN ENAMELWORK by Pennny C. Morrill. This one is named Noble 5404. It is so incredible with a primary green with glowing mixed colors sparking in all directions. These enamels being of vintage age pre 1970 are mostly found with loss. However this bracelet is totally without loss and original...

Bangle bracelets, be they hinged or solid, are a big love of mine but I am doubly thrilled to be presenting here a set of three signed by the Los Castillo! How often does one see this form with this signature, truly? Not often enough is the answer and the rarity enhances the innate quality of the pieces...

Tall, organic form sculpture by Luciano Gaspari for Salviati & Co.. The sculpture is formed of three joined irregular disks, with richly varied surface textures and folds. A large clear yellow disk is supported by two light smoke-gray disks (one disk has a slight bluish tinge that the other does not), the whole rising out of a dark smoke-gray block. The glass, being hand worked contains some bubbles, but are not considered flaws and add to the organic nature of the sculpture...

One of Enrique Ledesma's signature designs, the necklace at hand is a must-have for the collector because of the rare color agate used to complete the trapezoid links. Most frequently found with black onyx, obsidian and green stones (chrysocolla or chrysoprase) this is an ode to "less-is-more" necklace and to come upon an example with this rich, reddish brown agate is a real treat...

One of my favorite - and at the same time classic - Enrique Ledesma designs the bracelet at hand combines sterling silver and golden sheen obsidian in the maestro's characteristic, perfectly seamless way. Ledesma experimented with various stones creating the specific bracelet but I think this year is meant to be an "obsidian year" for me and I will say that I love this version...

This handmade pair of Tibetan boots was typically used by the Tibetan Minority groups for centuries. Each regional Tibetan group used its own distinct colored thread design pattern. Monks and officials also could be recognized by the thread design of their boots. These were a "commoners" boot and judging by their size, they were used by a young teenager. I suspect that they were only worn once or twice and they are in wonderful condition. Heel to toe they measure 9" and stand 12" high.
