Each half reticulated with five roundels, two of them stylized shou characters and inlaid with floral motifs in mixed metal. The insert of ring gimbals with the central bowl is missing. This style of Rattan helmet was worn by all foot soldiers during the Qing Dynasty. This helmet retains traces of its original painted symbols, no longer readable, it is presumed that they indicated specific troop or brigade to which the owner belonged.

This small oil lamp has a floral motif cloisonne base and glass globe. An artifact of the Qing dynasty, this style lamp was often referred to as an opium lamp, presummably because of their use in the opium dens of that period.

At 3.5 inches high, it is in good condition with no dents and no losses.
