A man-headed snake coils atop this incredible mid Edo period (18th century) image of Benzaiten (Saraswati) inside a mountain shaped reliquary of dark wood. Exceptional early Deco Taxco silver bracelet, its two parts formed by rows of repousse semi-spheres accented with green turquoise cabochons. This is one of my favorite forms in an exuberant design that never fails to attract attention. Born in East Hartford, Connecticut, Henry Ahl was a portraitist, muralist and landscape painter whose work reflected his exposure to the Tonalist style of the Barbizon painters. A Cizhou ceramic pillow with an ivory colored glaze which continues to a little above the base. The center of the headrest is painted fluidly with a floral spray in a brown iron pigment while a loose band of three freely incised lines encircle the flower. The base is left unglazed. Period: Song (10th Century) Size: Width = 23.5 cm (9-1/4 inches) Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs. Some loss of the glaze on both top edges.

Intricately carved hand wrought sterling silver bracelet designed and signed circa 1950 by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar (1905-86). Bracelet measures 1 1/4" wide. Hand carved Chinese Hetian jade carving, depicting a skeleton. Size; Measurements are 75 x 46 x 36 (mm) or 2.95 x 1.81 x 1.42 inches, total weight is 0.16 lbs/72 grams, in very good condition. Introduction; Chinese Hetian Nephrite Jade Hetian jade, a nephrite jade, is regarded as the only true jade in ancient China until Burmese jadeite becomes popular in late Qing Dynasty. Signed with an old hallmark of Matilde Poulat's Matl the repousse is in full regalia. Very well done with fine carving leaving a true feeling of the feathered bird. This is the larger sized version being 4 1/8thin. tall and 2.25in. wide. The weight is 36.5 grams heavy. This is a must have for the Matl collector and this one is an excellent example with the larger, full tail of 3 rings. No damage or flaws, just superb.

Interesting boat-shaped water vessel with birds-like spout, standing on four feet. Made of brass with brown patina and decorated with floral motifs in relief. Similar examples of this type of kendi in the "Tropenmuseum Amsterdam". Condition: traces of usage. Dimension: 33.4 cm high, 34 cm long.

Early Velazquez repousse bracelet with a center height of 2.5 inches. The carved jade face is without chips or cracks. There is some glare in the pictures. This repousse has great dimension and is 104 grams heavy. With a length of just over 7in. long and a diameter of 2.5in. when closed it will fit most. Velazquez was known for his Mexico City repousse in the folkloric style that Matl, Matilde Poulat is also known for. A must have for collectors.
