The character Kotobuki followed by a playful verse crying Watashiya kyujukyu made (Longevity, I live to 99). Ink on paper enclosed in a subtle cloth border befitting Zen art. It is stamped Taishitsu (his art name) and enclosed in the original signed wooden box with the same inscription on the lid. The scroll measures 10 by 73 inches (26.5 x 185 cm). There is some cupping in the scroll, otherwise in fine condition...

Vintage Margot de Taxco sterling silver astrological pendant necklace, this one is for the Leo in your life and like all Margot's zodiac jewelry, sculptural and heavy. I have paired the pendant with a substantial, hand-wrought Mexican chain of the same period and the two look like they always belonged together. Rare Chinese Han Dynasty Glazed Pottery Hill Jar (Tigers, Stags, Horsemen)

This rare and unusual pottery vessel, the type known as a "hill jar", was made during the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25 - 220). It is made from a relatively high-fired reddish pottery that has been coated in a green glaze, the colour of which varies according its thickness.

Although many examples of "hill jars" are known, this particular example is unusually decorated...

This is a small Tang Dynasty funerary sancai or tri-colour tea cup. It stands on a flat and small footrim and then everted flat and vertically upwards towards and everted mouth rim. The tri-colour are green, beige and amber, both in long streak in interior of the cup and some form of flower motif on outside.

There is no repair or restoration, some abrasion, firing and manufacturing faults which can be seen on the photos...

This rare jar was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) by one of the kilns at Yuxi county in Yunnan province, one of the first places in the world where blue & white ware was produced. A large Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) cold-painted pot from an old Japanese scholar collection enclosed in an ancient kiri-wood storage box bearing a great many stamps inside the lid. The fine clay is covered in elaborate designs in red, white brown and orange pigment. The piece is 11 inches (28 cm) tall. There is minor damage to the rim but no repair or restoration; a fine example of Han Dynasty painted pottery in fine condition.
