An antique Guardian mask used to ward off evil hand carved from a rough slab of hardwood. It is 14-1/2 inches (37 cm) tall and in fine condition. Usually hung under the eaves of a house, it shows weathering typical of age. Late 19th to early 20th century.

MS-12 signed, Matl Salas, and after 1980 earrings are hard to find. The length is 3 inches long. These are pierced ears and a pair of stabilizer backs for comfort are included. No dents or damage.

This unusual pair of Chinese dolls were made with wire bodies covered with fabric padding and then silk clothing. Their heads, lower arms and feet are made from some kind of composition material and then painted. Because of their wire construction, their arms, legs, and bodies etc can be carefully repositioned. The feet are wired together to provide a more stable base...it is a theory which frankly does not always work well.

It stands on a small flat base rising to a octagonal shaped body and then towards a straight short neck and small mouth rim. The body is divided into three horizontal sections. The octagonal shaped body is sandwich between two horizontal bands of moulded relief of lotus leave. The octagonal body is moulded with alternating moulded relief design of lotus plants with flowers and that of sunflower plant...

Condition with double flake chips and restored, the result of restoration visible on the last enlargement 12, flake glaze to foot rim and no crack, still a good condition for Yuan bowl, collected in Central Sulawesi area. Diameter: 16.5 cm.
