Measuring 7 1/4" wide, 4 1'2" high, and 5" deep, this bronze inkwell features the head of a lion or other big cat, and has applied glass eyes. The patina is dark, with lighter tones where it has been handled and rubbed. The piece is cast in three pieces, the head having a hinged lid, and is fastened to the back of the base with screws. It is unsigned, but is of exceptionally high quality in the casting of the head, with nice detail and texture...

Measuring 11 3/4" high and 4" across base, this Okimono of a Bijin holds a scroll, which has unfurled to her feet, where a cat plays with it. In rich colors and heavy enamel, the figure is both serene and elegant. Nice detail on the robes and clothing, with gilt details on her hair ornaments and along the edge of the scroll. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or losses to enamel. Late Meiji, ca 1900

A 19thC ironstone Wolfe-Montcalm Monument Quebec Canada scenes plate from the 1880s. This rustic 7-3/4" salad size plate is from a series of plates made for the Canadian market depicting various scenes. It was made by the Brittania Pottery in Glasgow, Scotland for Francis T. Thomas of Quebec c1880 as part of a commissioned series of Quebec scenes. It has a view of the Quebec City monument, text in two languages and a border of leaves and beavers...

A heavy sterling silver watch chain graduated bracelet circa 1880-1900. This late Victorian 8-1/4" bracelet is made of a piece of graduated watch chain (the links range from 5/16 to 7/16") with a non-rotating sterling swivel. Each link has an English lion silver mark and the swivel has an S.G maker's mark with a lion and k year stamp (probably 1884, possibly by Samuel Garside, a Birmingham silver chain maker)...

A 3 colour gilded sterling silver curb chain bracelet. This high quality and attractive 7-1/4" long and 3/16" wide braclet has alternating rose or pink gold, silver (white gold) and yellow gold bands in a curb link style. It has a beaded edge, a yellow gold plated lobster claw clasp (stamped 925 and probably Italian) and it weighs 12.4 grams. It is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs...

A Haida west coast Canada native sterling whale pendant on chain necklace. This 1-1/4 x 3/4" pendant has evocative hand decoration of a whale with a different design on both sides and it probably dates to the 1950s. It is unmarked and tests as sterling silver and it comes with a later 20-1/2" link chain with a springring clasp (marked STER with the Forstner company mark). It weighs 5.9 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs...

Rambouillet is a city south of Paris where many International Peace treaties and negotiations have taken place since before World War One. Gendarme of course refers to the French policemans hat which is the same as Napoleons classic chapeau. High in the center with a gentle slope that finishes in a crisp point at the corners. I was fortunate to snag this pair at a large outdoor show south of Paris. The competition is fierce at these hugs shows and most chairs have been bought up before I get a shot at them. This lovely French nailed head French Club chair could be the model of what all the people trying to copy French Club chairs would want to use. It features the transitional style where the cushion was velvet that was prevalent in previous French seating. This chair has some age appropriate wear, a little repair here and there but the chair is is sound, good condition overall. It sits quite nicely...

We are offering a signed Matl necklace in a mid sized presence of a drop measuring 3 inches long with dangles and 2.5 in. across not counting the lead in links. The wearable length is 18in. The clasp is ornate with turquoise cabochons. The coral has an orange hue with barrel cuts. The turquoise on the drop is both cabochons and barrel cuts. The center stone is clear as many of Matilde Poulats stones in her beginnings of her shop were gem quality. Very early beginnings hallmark with a 980 mark...

A lovely roku-yu glazed form from the kilns of Korea mounted on a tri-pronged rosewood stand and enclosed in a period kiri-wood box. It is 12 inches (30 cm) tall plus the stand. There are minor chips about the rim. An excellent piece for use in the tea room. Likely 15th to early 17th centuries (Possibly later Goryeo likely early Joseon).

An antique Japanese saddle pad covered with a Korean tapestry of two frolicking lion-dogs in green and white. A large porcelain vase covered in olive green upon which grows a rush of white bamboo and a brief epitaph by Miura Chikusen I enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating to the late Meiji or early Taisho period. It is 15 inches (37.5 cm) tall and in excellent condition. The box has much darkened with age. Works of this size by Chikusen, who largely specialized in the minute world of Sencha ware are quite rare.

A pair of large mixed metal birds on a custom black lacquered table by Iwase Seifu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled So-Hato Okimono. Excellent detail, the birds are life sized, the strutting male figure signed on the posterior is roughly 9 inches long, 8 inches tall. Both are in good condition, with some wear to the silvering.
