New England Federal bow-front chest with strongly figured tiger maple drawer fronts. Circa 1810-1820. Probably Massachusetts origin. Dimensions: 41.25 inches wide (40 inch case) x 21 inches deep x 35.25 inches high. This Hepplewhite maple chest has four graduated drawers veneered in tiger maple, and retaining the original stamped brass oval pulls with eagle motifs. The case stands on high French feet with an unusual carved embellishment near the base...

Very well crafted Chinese Cinnabar snuff bottle, Depicting floral and bird design on each side, surrounded by floral design, Mid-Qing Dynasty, With etched Qianlong mark on base. Size; Height of snuff bottle is 2 3/8 inches with diameter of 3.5 inches in excellent condition.

This is an old pre-1948 repousse necklace with great depth and dimension. The drop makes it's presence known but is still a size that can go to the board room with ease. The drop is 3in. across and 1.5in. tall. It is puffy repousse but still weighs in at a hefty 61 grams. The earrings and links are 1.25 in. long. The bead work is all hand applied which was labor intensive. No dents and no repairs or damage...

Well-potted large bowl, creamy glaze and decorated with two large branch of flower in iron-black glaze. Yuan to Ming dynasty Cizhou ware, condition is good except a light hairline to rim area, otherwise is perfect. Diameter: 19cm and High: 11.5cm.

Description:

A black-glazed Jianyang tea cup was in rarely-seen silver-spots effects in the glaze.
The tea bowl was in oval shape with inverted mouth rim.
It was applied on the surface with dark brown, appearing black glaze on the surface.
The dense slip stopped evenly above the foot ring.
Slightly iridescent and brownish, the silver streaks embellished the glaze with metal-sheen-feel reflection.
It was a characteristic skill in that periods for Jianyang wares...

Born in England in 1888, Morley settled in New York and was a sculptor, craftsperson and teacher. She was a member of the Allied Artists of America and exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She is listed in Falk, Who Was Who in American Art.

Thomas R. Curtin (American, 1899-1977) painting of birches in autumn. Oil on canvas. Size: 24 inches x 30 inches. Circa 1960s. Bearing the stamp of the artist's estate in the lower right and on the reverse, together with the estate inventory #314. In this painting, Thomas Curtin has captured the glory of a sunny autumnal day, where sunlight glints from the curling bark of a stand of white birch trees and contrasts with the bright oranges and yellows of Vermont sugar maples...

A rare blue and white Meiping, decorated with garden scene with official and attendant among windswept, pine tree and grasses, flanked by a band of continuously lotus scroll in the shoulder above and plantain leaves below, base unglazed. Ming dynasty 15th century Interregnum period of Jingtai-Thianshun. Condition is very good, except minor flake chips to mouth rim, but no any restoration. High: 24cm.

 

Koi fish is a motif automatically associated with Margot de Taxco in Mexican silver jewelry - the Grande Dame's love for Japanese art provided inspiration for many of her designs and those who either worked with her or simply emulated her creations helped the influence live on even after she stopped being active. The bracelet at hand is a rare find - not only because it's not repousse but consists of links carefully cut out of thick silver sheet but also because the fish are inlaid with shimm...

Signed HMM this lovely 3in. across and 2.5in. tall drop shows off 4 gem quality moonstones. The design is solid with detail being hand chased on thick silver. In one pix the camera flash only hits 2 of the moonstones but they all glow with a gorgeous blue. It boasts a 16in. wearable and is much more than pretty, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!
