This early 20th century ring is from the arts and crafts period. The approximately 0.20Ct old-mine diamond is bezel set in white gold and sits on top of a masterfully carved 14Kt yellow gold shank. The size of the ring is 5 ½ but it can easily be sized.

From the island of Malaita in the Solomon Islands, this alafolo, or war club, is in very fine condition, with a rich dark patina. Measuring just under 40", it still retains much of the kaolin inlay and shows surface irregularities from the hand work. It dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. An exqusite example of enamel work on ginbari style foil background depicting a dragon swirling and coiling around the neck of the vase. Artist signed on the bottom measuring approx. 9.5 inches tall. In excellent condition but for some discoloration or tarnish on the silver foil under the enamel and some fine stress lines (see picture) overall a masterpiece of this Japanese art form.
