Description:
A black-glazed tea bowl was in a unique form.
Apparently caused by firing effects, the surface of the glaze was transformed to a mysterious image that was charming and different.
It was not sure if it was intentionally finished by an ingenious potter or just an accidental surprise.
But it was indeed a unique and sought-after piece for real connoisseur.

Pair of large Chinese late Qing dynasty globular form jars with domed covers moulded in relief with cranes resting in a lotus pond among large flowering plants and leafy stems executed in susancai colors of green, yellow, and aubergine with black and white highlights. A Victorian 10k sword tie pin or stickpin with safety. This fancy vintage late Victorian (unmarked but tested) 10k yellow gold 2-1/4" fighting sword shaped cravat, ascot or tie pin is complete with a gold filled safety chain and spike. The pin itself is gold and it weighs 1.2 grams, while the chain and safety are gold filled. This fine 1890-1900 pin is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs (except for a bit of wave to the pin of the safety)...

A vintage 1960s Rosko Japan Hy-Que Speak No Evil mechanical steel and plastic battery operated monkey toy. This famous 17" tall toy has brightly lithographed metal parts and soft rubber hands and head with fur. The clothing is intact and in excellent shape as is the metalwork (it rates a visual C9 to us). The mechanism doesn't work, however the face does light up. The battery tray is clean with only minor stains and it is free of corrosion...

An 8-1/4" salad plate in the Prairie Crocus pattern, issued by Royal Albert in the (Canadian) Provincial Flowers series (1984-2001). We have two of these unused plates in stock (one still has the Eaton's $38.50 price tag on it). This Matilde Poulat Matl bracelet is huge at 2.25in. face front. The carving on the feathers is meticulous. The length is 7in. long and it weighs a hefty 74 grams. The hallmark is one of Matilde's oldest. This is an important jewel and never seen in this design. The camera reflects a bit of a gold tint but there is no gilt to this bracelet. It has been very well cared for as it is without any dents, repairs or damage. It is a pleasure to wear and to be seen.

Felipe Martinez opened his own shop Piedra y Plata in 1950. He was a master lapidary and this necklace shows off 27 pillow top cabochon amethyst. The half inch tall rectangles all in a row glow as if electrified. This necklace is a comfortable 17in. long. Properly hallmarked as shown and with design number 142. Very rare, collector quality with no damage or repairs. A spectacular treasure just,LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Taxco 980 jewels have always shown a heavy weight and great design. This clamper bracelet is 2in. tall and weighs 67 grams. The height is more bracelet sized and is perfect to wear even working at the computer. It is roomy at 2.5in. diameter which is enough to push up at the wrist when needed. The swirls in this one are of a unique design that are simply gorgeous. No dents or repairs. A real treasure.

One of the few female Taxco designers Erika Hult de Corral studied in Paris and worked for both Ledesma and Sigi Pineda before opening her own workshop. The ring at hand is, I believe, an original Sigi creation probably from the time that de Corral was working in his taller. Its fluid, mod lines and the big chrysoprase stone centering it draw the eye immediately and hold it captive effortlessly. Currently a sz 6 (yet resizable) its face is 1 1/8″ by 13/16″ and it weighs 15.5 grams...

Chinese Yuan to Ming dynasty Longquan celadon dish with everted barbed rim, the center nicely carved with a floral pattern surrounded by stylized incised floral patterns on the cavetto. The glaze is crackled overall. The underside is decorated with vertical ribbing. The characteristic unglazed burnt orange ring is within the glazed ringed foot. 10 3/8" diameter x 2" high. Majolica pottery bowl with water lily or lotus motif by Holdcroft. The English potter Joseph Holdcroft established the Sutherland Pottery in Longton at Daisy Bank, England in 1870 and operated until 1906 when its name changed to Holdcroft Ltd., as which they continued operations until 1920.
