Words fall short on describing this breathtaking vessel by master potter Kimura Morikazu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Biryu Kessho Yohen Chawan. It is quite large at 14.5 cm (nearly 6 inches) diameter, 8 cm tall and is in perfect condition.

A set of five dishes which my staff creams over by Yamaguchi Michie enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Momo Mame Sara. These live up to the word Kawaii so profound in contemporary Japanese pop culture. Each is roughly 15.5 x 17.5 cm (6 x 7 inches) ad all are in excellent condition, directly from the artist.

A dramatic basin brutalized by the elements by Shigaraki Master Tsujimura Shiro enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Representative of this artists work, the lip has split with heat, one edge blasted off, and the entire charred and buried in ash. The dish measures 7.5 cm (3 inches) deep, 29 cm (12 inches) diameter and is in excellent condition.

A superbly crafted trumpeting form by Nakamura Kohei enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Ido Chawan. The bowl reflects the aesthetics of those imported Korean wares preferred by Sen-no-Rikyu in the Momoyama era. It has a bold, strong foot which rests perfectly on the table, both grounding the bowl and yet allowing it a sense of flight, as if the moment will soon be gone (and it will indeed!)...

A fantastic Tea Bowl by rising star Furutani Kazuya enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Shigaraki Chawan. Ash-glaze blasted with fire color of foggy green and yellow shizen yu glaze, shell props on the side, allowing us a view into the firing as it lay on its side in the kiln, the molten ash building up on the opposite side and following gravity down in streams. A sumptuous work exploiting the best Shigaraki pottery has to offer...

A masterpiece by Shigaraki Icon Koyama Kiyoko enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Shigaraki Shizen-yu Mentori Hanaire. She was well known for both her Mentori works, and the exuberant amount of ash accumulated from the 10 plus day firings of her kiln. This is a prime example of both those features. A beautiful example of modern Bizen-ware—with a thick feldspar glaze partially covering the clay body allowing the natural ash glaze underneath to show through in areas. This piece along with others by the same artist tend to push the bounds of what you usually see in Bizen pottery.
