Although I do not often use the term, this is a masterpiece by Iga artist Banura Shiro enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Even under the glaze the texture of the clay is clearly visible, rivulets of green glass arching around the body with slashes of color over the red terracotta. Mint Oni-Hagi masterpiece chawan with notched foot by star potter Seigan Yamane. This extraordinary tea bowl is covered by wonderful different shades of white glaze and a few shades of purple on brown pottery. So rare and beautiful: Arita Tenmoku Tea Bowl by greatest Living National Treasure Inoue Manji. Most of his work is made of white porcelain, and only very few have the wonderful Tenmoku glaze. We are very proud to present one of his rare masterpieces. It comes with the originally signed and sealed wooden box, a sealed cloth and a profile of him. He named the tea bowl "Tenmoku Macchawan".

A massive sculptural vase by Kyotos Inoue Yoshihisa (b. 1947) in the form of a crowing cock. This piece was featured in the Nitten in 1973 and is visible in the catalog for that year. Yoshihisa studied ceramics under Kiyomizu Rokube VI, certainly one reason for his emphasis on sculptural concerns. His work has often been accepted to the Nitten National Exhibition, as well as the All Japan New Crafts Exhibition where he received the Members prize, and the Kofukai-ten. An early work by the important Shino potter Katō Yasukage XIV 14 代加藤康景 (1964-2012), made as Katō Masaharu 加藤正治, a name he used before ascending to a family name in 2001. A twelve petal chrysanthemum is depicted on the lid. Titled Shino Incense Container (Shino kōgō 志野香合), it is made of glazed stoneware, and is 3.4 x 5.8 x 5.6 cm.
