Guinomi creates a very organic feel.  The bulbous form, like some tuber or bulb found in nature, a sake-flower bulb, shows scars where kutsuki (other items) have fused to it in the heat of the conflagration.  Allow this bulb to grow to fruition, blossoming into a shared night of conversation and company or a quiet night of music and moonlight…

A mesh of copper draperies hang over the dark black of this unusually shaped Tsubo by Tenmoku specialist Kimura Moriyasu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Shoju Tenmoku Henko. Shoju Tenmoku, literally Pine-Needle-Tenmoku, is a glaze technique where the effect joins in a mesh like pine needles overlapping, very difficult to pull off, but here Moriyasu has done it masterfully. The vessel is 30.5 cm (12 inches) tall, 19 x 16 cm (7-1/2 x 6 inches) and is in excellent condition...

Wonderful hakuji glazed guinomi with "mikomi" and a faceted, mentori kodai foot. Very much in the style of Ishiguro Munemaro.

The deep sides of this striking bowl are covered in unusual shades of lustrous orange tinged feldspar by master craftsman Kato Yasukage XIV enclosed in the original wooden box titled Shino Chawan and signed By the 14th Generation Yasukage followed by his seal.  The coloring appears as if the bowl is still held in the whispering grasp of the flame, a bright yellow-orange which appears almost liquid in places.  Very unusual and a most unique piece by this important artist.

This bowl by Shingu Sayaka looks to me as if it were made from petrified butterfly wings. It is titled Gakuyo Wan and comes enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 14 x 14 x 8.5 cm (5-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches) and is in excellent condition, directly from the artist. Shingu Sayaka was born in Osaka, the industrial and commercial heartland of central Japan, in 1979...

A shell shaped swirling form by young female artist Takatsu Mio enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 6-1/2 inches (16.5cm)wide, roughly 7 inches (18cm) tall and in excellent condition.
Takatsu Mio (b. 1976) was raised in Gifu prefecture among the scattered kilns of Mino. She graduated the Osaka University of Arts Sculpture Department in 1999, moving on to advanced studies which she completed in 2001. Her first exhibited works were in 1999, and then again in Tokyo in 2001...

Tetsuya Noda, born 1940 in Kyushu. The art is a framed silkscreen mixed media work, part of the "Diary" series dated August 26th, 1985. The image and title is of his home town in Kayuwara. The edition is 11 of 15. The image size is 36 x 23 inches and 47.5 x 35.625 inches with frame. Excellent condition. Noda is part of the Sōsaku-hanga art movement and is considered a major 20th century Japanese artist.

A fabulous wavering form accentuates the fissured ice-like glaze of celadon master Uraguchi Masayuki enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seiji Kokusho Mizusashi. The black lacquered lid is like a dark pool in the middle of the flaring body. The sleek shape is very much his own, and the deeply crackled glazes he employs have been developed over a lifetime of experimentation...

Made in USA. Just like the fibula pin brooch clasp of old worn by the Romans, Greeks & Celts was functional, so is this hand hammered 14 gauge modern studio hand wrought fibula pin brooch by and stamped: Handmade Mimi Dee & Sterling. Note the centuries old idea of the unilateral spring. In a USA studio this was hand fabricated and wrought by one pair of hands. Three removable charms pendants using Carnelian & Turquoise for a total wt of 1 Oz or 28 grams were added for versatility...

There is no doubt about the superlative nature of the deep celadon glazes used by Living National Treasure Nakajima Hiroshi, and this vessel is no let down. A creamy blue crackling glaze covers this artful form which comes enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled simply Seiji Tsubo. It is 10-1/2 inches (26.5 cm) tall, 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) diameter and is in excellent condition.
Nakajima Hiroshi was born in Hiroshima in 1941...

A striking black and orange striped vase in simplified ovoid form by Mukunoki Eizo enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kokusai Tsubo. This was purchased at a Mitsukoshi Exhibition. It is 8 inches (20 cm) tall and in excellent condition.
Mukunoki Eizo Born in Shimane, and graduated the prefectural ceramics research facility before he apprenticed under Kawai Kanjiro in 1958. He would stay with Kanjiro until the masters death in 1966...
