A shiny golden Kyo-yaki tea bowl in mint condition made by the great Kyo artist Eika Miyaji 25 years ago. Red and white plum trees are hand painted on the body. This is definitely the most beautiful work of Eika Miyaji we have ever seen.

The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom. His work was often published in great books (please refer to the last picture)

A superbly crafted and balanced trumpeting form by legendary tea bowl creator Tsujimura Shiro enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Ido Chawan. The bowl reflects the aesthetics of those imported Korean wares preferred by Sen-no-Rikyu in the Momoyama era. It has a bold, strong foot which rests perfectly on the table, both grounding the bowl and yet allowing it a sense of flight, as if the moment will soon be gone (and it will indeed!)...

This very robust and Momoyama influenced vase was made by Mino potter and part magician, Hori Ichiro. Thrown out of a grainy, off white mogusa clay and decorated in blades of grass on the front and side, the pot was finished off with Hori's classic Shino glaze and fired in his wood kiln. Though difficult to see in the photos, there is a sheen around the neck, mouth and other areas created by a very thin layer of ash has adhered to the surface making for a very interesting addition to the glaze...
