Jewelry hosting carved stone hearts in silver settings was very popular in the Mexican Deco period. Teased out of jasper and agate and oftentimes even dyed calcite, the hearts are unfailingly curvaceous as if pulsing with life, their sculpturality shamelessly inviting the touch. When Frederick W. Davis (1880-1961) designed this most unusual necklace he likely chose this ancient hand carved stone from his Pre-Columbian collection. A very rare piece of sterling silver Arts and Crafts jewelry by the San Francisco Metalsmith, Harry Dixon. This unusual ring, in a size 6 1/2 depicts a fish swimming in waves. Very three dimensional. An excellent late Victorian silver baton link watch chain, the batons decorated with niello in a checkboard pattern. The batons are joined by gilt silver curb links. Even the dog clip and bolt clasps are enhanced with striped niello. The chain is stamped “800.”

An Edwardian gilt silver ("vermeil") locket enhanced with bright turquoise blue guilloche enamel. The starburst design of the champleve is enhanced with gilt accents in the enamel. Arts & crafts handmade period silver and moonstones dagger pin, c.1910. Quite LARGE and made of very heavy gauge silver, it measures 4" LONG and the dagger can be removed from the sheath. The silver work is very decorative and intricate. The sheath and the dagger each have pin backs and be worn open(in two pieces) or closed(as one). This is an exquisite piece, c. 1910. It is made of 830 vermeil. The filigree-bordered circles suspend 3 blue enamel flowers with white centers. The filigree design between the circs have a similar dangle with a central, white cab. This spectacular brooch measures 1 1/2" across (1 3/4" w/ extended pin). It measures 2 5/8" from top to bottom. The back is marked 830 with a maker's mark I cannot make out.

A beautiful demi-parure consisting of a matching necklace and bracelet in gold washed silver with very big faceted opaline glass stones, prong set, and bezel set in the center of the necklace. An antique silver - most probably sterling - watch fob with original chain and dog clip, this sweet little find is, I believe, from the late Victorian / Edwardian period.
