Lovely necklace with black glass beads and groups of dark blue melon beads with pale blue ruffled beads, all wired in dark goldtone metal. Circa 1940, probably
French. 58 inches wearable length. The large melon beads are 3/8 inch wide. Excellent condition. One of the small light blue flower form beads is missing a petal -- this is very hard to see and does not show when worn. Display form is life size. Photos enlarged to show detail.

This Joseff of Hollywood crab, shell and 13 mm pearl brooch is in excellent condition. The mysteries of the Middle East influenced this design.
The detailed modeling is in the Russian gold finish they made famous for its photographic effect. The crab sits on a scallop shell and holds a large and lustrous simulated pearl. It is hallmarked Joseff signature on an applied plaque. It is 2" x 2 1/4".
Joseff was the jeweler for the Hollywood movie moguls form 1930-1948...

Cast pewter and gilt pendant with a squirrel, by Volmer Bahner, c 1940, made to look like bronze. VB (1912 – 1995) was a Danish designer who in his jewels usually worked with enamel and silver. However, during WWII silver and even bronze was sometimes hard to find and cheaper material such as pewter was used as a substitute. These Coro cockatoos have been hand painted with enamel. At the center of each flower is a faceted, faux diamond.
As you can see by the patent below, this duette was designed by Gene Verrechio and patented in 1941. Pat # for the duette is Des. 126,490 and for the clip #1798867.
