Lovely vintage silver enameled link necklace by Margot Van Voorhies Carr. 1950s. Marked MARGOT DE TAXCO, STERLING MEXICO, with eagle number 16, and with design number 5614. A signature Margot enameling technique, with leaf forms enameled in translucent green and small circular shapes in opaque white with tiny black speckles. Here’s a brightly colored, basse-taille enameled peacock charm: feathers fully fanned. Peacocks add to the beautiful colors of Mexico, roaming about freely. The back of the charm is marked “MEXICO 925” and eagle “15” mark. This handsome cross pin (that also has a bail to double as a pendant) is by circa 1970. It has a geometric design of copper and onyx inlaid with sterling silver and turquoise. It has 3 layers: the top is the copper, that is skillfully cut for the inlay; the next layer is the onyx and the bottom is sterling. This wonderful 1940's, Mexican necklace consists of decorative, linked hearts that meet to form a pendant of 3 hearts with a central cone-shaped ornament. The hearts have a lovely, foliate, stamped, raised design complimented by a small, bezel set, turquoise cabochon (in different shades of blue and green). The necklace is 20” long. This biomorphic pin c. 1950’s is made of mixed metals: sterling silver and copper, like many of Popowski’s pieces. It has an inlay of crushed stone (azurmalachite). The pin has the top layer (described above), sitting on a layer (of just over 1/8”) of obsidian backed by a layer of sterling. This Antonio Pineda tie bar is a wonderful example of his quality, modernist artistry. It is concave with a central bezel-set, oval amethyst cabochon. It is marked "ANTONIO TAXCO" (in crown), "970" and co-stamped with Los Castillo Cooperativo marks: "LOS CASTILLO SOC COOP SCL" in a circle with "SEC 2" inside (this Coop mark is double-struck--see pictures) and eagle mark "58." The tie bar measures 1 1/8" x 5/8" x 1/4" and is in very good condition.

This superb pin is by Taxco silversmith Sigi Pineda. The boomerang design is complimented by the overlay of dots on the oxidized background. It is signed "Sigi Tasco" "STERLING HECHO EN MEXICO" and numbered "60" with assay mark 3 (see pictures). It measures 2 1/2" x 1" and is in excellent condition.

Rare sterling modernist choker necklace by Sigi, c.1952. Extremely heavy, it weighs 5 troy oz(150 gms)and is in excellent condition. The concave necklace houses graduated dimensional silver balls going around the entire piece. Sigi opened his PLATEROS shop in 1952, and one rarely sees the PLATEROS mark. The necklace is signed "PLATEROS TAXCO MEXICO STERLING #17 bellmark-can't read". The choker measures 14" around and is for a small neck. Wonderfully designed and unusual piece of modernism......$...
