A vintage modernist sterling silver pair of earrings by studio jeweler, Fridl Blumenthal. Signed with her Tulip mark, Sterling, style number 115 and FRIDL on each earring. The findings on the earrings are also marked sterling.

Opposites so frame the face when worn. Thick sterling silver with sterling overlay on niello. Earrings measure 7/8" long and 1/2" across. Screw backs work fine.

Fine condition with some tarnish and minor surface scratches.

Her pieces are hard to find...

A vintage hand wrought sterling silver brooch from the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis. Made up of multiple layers and textures.

Measures about 1 1/4" across and 1 1/2" high. Heavy and substantial. Can be worn with the pin going up and down or across. Marked Sterling and with the crossed JL mark of the artist. Also has the ® mark.

Very nice condition, has an interesting contrast of polished and darkened patinas...

An iconic brooch in sterling silver by Frank Miraglia, the 'Happy Fish' design.

Sterling silver with a sterling squiggle overlay. Has a bezel set art glass eye. Even has some slits for gills.

Measures 2 1/4" tall and 2 1/4" across. Signed F. Miraglia N.Y. Sterling. Has a rollover clasp that holds securely. Has some of tarnish and surface scratches. There are a few nicks to the overlay near the tail.

A pair of vintage modernist sterling silver earrings by the well known Mid Century NYC jeweler, Henry Steig. Geometric sterling layered design. They are opposites so will frame the face when worn.

Warm patina. Screw backs hold securely. Measure about 7/8" long and 3/4" across. Marked Steig Sterling on the backs and Sterling on the screw parts. Well made.

A fine, hand wrought modernist sterling silver collar necklace and triangular bracelet by the California studio jeweler, Gerald Stinn, (1937-2019). Thick hammered sterling wires gently curved and flattened.

The necklace measures about 11 1/2" around with an opening of about 3". Measures 1/4" at the widest. Probably better for a slender neck although can be adjusted somewhat.

The bracelet measures about 8 1/4" around the inside, hard to get an exact measurement due to the curves...

It is always vexing when a hallmark eludes identification and this is (almost) the case with the towering vintage silver ring at hand. Brutalist in design, having a big, semi-translucent chrysoprase cabochon nested in its elevated setting, it bears a partial hallmark which has been suggested to me is probably a maker’s mark from Spain. Home of renowned modernist designers such as Joachim S’Paliu and Puig Doria, Spain sounds like a plausible place of origin for our 1970s ring...

An amazing piece of mid century modernist hand wrought jewelry.

This bronze or patinated brass pendant measures 3 1/2" long and 2" across. Has thick sterling wire around the edge and a curved design on each end. Interesting hammered texture.

There is some tarnish and a little wear to the bronze patina. Has a large bale so will also accommodate a thick chain or neck ring.

Fine contrasting of textures, interesting design.

A Mid Century Modernist sterling silver pendant in a brutalist style signed Macefield for William Mason and Leonard Field, American studio jewelers who worked in Massachusetts in the 1940's -70's.

The pendant measures 1 3/4" long and 3/4" at the widest. Signed Macefield Sterling on the back.

This pendant has been paired with a sterling neck ring that is 13" around with an opening of 1 1/2". It can be adjusted if needed...

A vintage heavy sterling silver hand made brooch with what looks like a prong set moonstone. Setting is very organic with tentacles and curves.

Nice contrast between the oxidized inner areas and the polished edges.

Measures 2 1/8" across and 1 5/8" at the widest.

There is an impressed rectangular mark on the back but it is too tiny to read. Has a rollover clasp that holds securely.

Well crafted, solid silver.

A pair of vintage brooches from the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis, one in the shape of a 6 pointed star and the other a whale. Great hammered textures.

The whale measures 3 1/8" long and 5/8" wide. The star measures 1 3/8" across and 1 1/4" high.

Both are marked Sterling and with the crossed JL mark of the artist. The clasps hold securely. They are in fine condition with some minor scratches. Warm patina.
