This 3-piece set is a rare find. It is by Hermann Siersbol, of Copenhagen, Denmark, circa 1950's-1960's. The brooch and earrings display a convex modernist starburst motif: (a spiderweb, foil look), with points and textured silverwork. The brooch comes to a head, with turquoise and lapis stones / beads and is marked 925S HS. The earrings are clipbacks, with a central lapis stone / bead and are marked 925S HS and STERLING. Elegant silver filigree brooch, a Norwegian solje. Less exuberant in style than most filigree solje brooches, without any enamel or gilt - just two shimmering roundels and the traditional chains holding the little pendant ornaments. Silver standard mark 830S and the pin hook with the three crowns of the Swedish hallmark – the brooch was made around 1900 when Sweden and Norway were united (the union was dissolved in 1905). A highly decorative piece in gilded sterling silver designed with a graceful movement, this starfish pin has a rich, textured look. It features yellow-green guilloche enamel with raised graduated disks running down each arm enameled in white. The entire piece is jag edged, and has a convex shape. These 1960s Scandinavian earrings have distinctive, lacy frames, each set with a cabochon carnelian in a bezel mounting. The clip backs are marked S925 and are original; the earrings are probably Danish. The earrings measure ½ inch wide.
These mid-century earrings are composed of rectangular and concave gilded sterling silver plaques enameled in a deep blue with a linear design under the glaze. The blue shows much brighter than in the images and more of a contrast with the two raised ridges of gilded sterling that decorate the center. This modernist, geo brooch measures just over 1 3/4" x 1" (at widest point). It is concave and incised with 3 line borders. The back is hallmarked GD & Co (for Gustav Dahlgren & Co.), M (city mark for Malmo), then, the Swedish National triple crown hallmark, S (in hexagon, indicating 830 silver or higher) and K9 for 1960. The back is also signed what looks like Gillgren in script. It is in great condition.
