Early Mexico City open backed repousse cuff looks so fabulous without being embossed around the background of the roses because it makes the repousse really pop. This is a 1 10/16th in. wide and the diameter is 2.5in. There are no repairs, no dents and no light holes that come from poorly pressed silver. The roses are brisk and superbly dimensional. One of Salvador Teran’s original designs that is difficult to find especially in the form of earrings, the “crouching man” is also a favorite of mine. Meticulously worked and perfectly finished this antique silver repousse cuff bracelet is obviously of Asian origin but I am not quite sure of its exact provenance. Silver jewelry was made to appeal to the "working girl" who desired beautiful and well made jewelry in European society. After Queen Victoria's Silver Jubilee in the third quarter of the 19th century, silver cuff bracelets were incredibly popular. Silver cuff bracelets extremely collectible today as they were well made and no two pieces were alike, each was unique in its own way.
