These beautiful, sterling silver earrings have a classic Mexican, 1940's design. They are screwbacks, and measure 1" x 1" x 1". The central stones are bezel-set: green chalcedony / jade. Taxco 980 signed pieces are always quality. This link is 118 grams heavy and is the closest thing to the Coco design of the Spratling original necklace which is so very, very rare. Luminous Obsidian stones are at the center of this large and lovely Antonio Pineda Bracelet in a design known as the Swans. Spratling designed this pin in 1942 as part of a series of items depicting continental solidarity. The pin shows clasped hands superimposed over a gold gilded map of the western hemisphere. This pin was made in two sizes, this being the larger at 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". The fastener is a two pronged clip. Both pin and original fastener are in excellent condition. In 1942 Macy's Dept. Based on an original, almost impossible to find Margot de Taxco design, the repousse "swans-in-a-row" bracelet I am presenting here is wrought in fine, .980 silver and is a little masterpiece. I think suggesting that "A.E.M", whose initials can be found on it, was a maestro who worked for the Los Castillo and/or Margot de Taxco is not a far-fetched hypothesis. This Los Castillo is an early design 592 and crafted when Margot Van Voorhies was married to Antonio Castillo. This is not for the faint of heart with a .5in. depth, 21 inches long and 1.25in. tall. Showing further quality is the weight of 183 grams. It displays a naturally darkened patina. I have showed a picture of the well working clasp as it is old in style and almost invisible.
