An organic mid century modern brooch by the American studio jeweler, Harry Osaki (1904-1985), who worked in Pasadena, California. Reminds us of a stylized fish.

This brooch, executed in sterling silver with an oval turquoise colored stone, measures 2 7/8" long and 1 1/2" at the widest.

Marked Osaki, Hand-Wrought and Sterling on the back.

Has a rollover safety clasp that holds securely. Has a little tarnish and a few minor surface scratches.

Alberto Contreras Sr. was trained by master silversmith Frank Patania Sr. in the late 1940's and employed at the Patania Thuderbird Shop in Santa Fe. Their work was heavily influenced by the Native American jewelers that worked with them. These beautiful clip back sterling and turquoise earrings feature a striking Modernist design with great stones. They measure 1"by1" and weigh 16 grams total.
