Mexico City Folkloric style was made popular by Matilde Poulat but there were other noted Maestros also producing stunning jewels of this style. P.OCHOA is one of those artists that I look for. The silver is thick repousse with unique skilled carving to the tops. This bracelet listed shows off a green oval stone in the center of a 1 5/8ths inches high center medallion. The weight is 70 grams and with No damage. Correctly signed as shown.

A silver filigree pin brooch with a blue glass cabochon stone from the 1930s. This 1-5/8 x 15/16" sterling silver pin features a lapis lazuli style glass cabochon in blue with gold flecks and it has the original c-clasp. It weighs 9.2 grams and it has an unidentified silver and maker's mark. This pin is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor wear to the stone...

A modernist bracelet, 'Caravan' designed by Bjorn Weckstroms for Lapponia, Finland in sterling silver. Has Lapponia's signature finish. Made up of 6 curved links.

Marked with the Lapponia Hallmark, 925, Finnish silver standard mark, date code L8, and scales mark.

Measures 7 1/8" long and 3/8" at the widest. Has a locking clasp that holds securely. Links are slightly curved so lays nicely on the wrist.

A beautiful vintage Navajo sterling bracelet with a diagonal line of precise stamping in the style of Navajo Joe H. Quintana. It is possibly by him but it is unmarked. Measuring 6" around in the inside with an additional 1 1/4" opening, it is 1 3/4" wide and weighs a solid 67 grams. Fine original condition. Scrupulous execution.

A fine Art Deco sterling silver pendant necklace by famed illustrator and jewelry designer McClelland Barclay. The square pendant shows a water lily and lily pad along with several buds in a stylized form. The pendant is suspended from its original silver chain. The reverse is marked "Sterling Silver" and is signed "McClelland Barclay".

Barclay was a noted illustrator, famous for his pin-up style advertisements for General Motors and for Hollywood movies...

This handmade sterling silver stylized oak leaf has an arts and crafts feel. It has incised ‘veins’ and applied branchlike stems. On the back is a safety clasp and a mark for sterling. It measures 3 1/2 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide.

Enrique Ledesma was known for his work with stone next to silver. In this necklace he chose some of the brightest obsidian with a flaming gold sheen. I can not capture how black this stone is without much light and also how it glows as you move with the light. The necklace has a wearable length of 17in. and is made with thick silver. The matching earrings are a gorgeous 1.75in. long and have a strong clip back. The height is just under a half inch tall...

Maestro Velazquez is one of my favorite early Mexican silversmiths. Based on the hallmarks on his work, he was most probably based in Mexico City and his creations are almost always in the so-called Mexico City style of repousse. Very well made and carefully finished, this figural fish brooch is also characterized by a fun, cartoon-ish air that will put a smile on your face every day of the year...

Silver pendant and chain by Karl Laine, Finnfeelings, one of his Spider Web designs from around 1970. Mark for Finnfeelings, 925H, A for the town of Åbo / Turku, T7 for 1972 and Swedish import mark (three crowns and S). Diameter "1 2/5 / 3.3 cm, length of chain "24 ½ / 62 cm. Condition: fine.

From a Cape Cod collector one finds this sleek curvilinear silver cuff bracelet stamped: STERLING with a fab picture jasper cab as the focal point. Modernist, Native American and Mexican jewelry makers have crafted this look through the years. The landscape picture jasper reminds one of Owyhee Rocky Butte or Cripple Creek in origin, yet here with its muted landscape scenery and "tree leaves" in the upper left foreground. Sm to Med frame.
