Has some scuffs and a little tarnish. Adds to the brutalist nature of the piece so not sure if some of it is original.

A superb early vintage Mexican Silver Bracelet by the famous Matilde Poulat aka MATL. Features her signature ornate silver work and a lovely combination of Coral and Turquoise cabochon stones. Measures 7" long, 1 1/2" wide and is quite heavy at 79.5 grams. With the early hallmark "Matl, 0.925, Hecho en Mexico, D.F. MATL" which dates the bracelet to the 1934-48 time period. A massive, amazing vintage bracelet in 970 silver with 6 cabachon amethysts by Antonio Pineda. The randomly placed stones are deeply set into the silver and appear to be almost floating. This bracelet is unmarked, but tests as silver, probably .800. It is a very high quality early marcasite and silver piece, set with amethysts and dated conservatively from the 1930s. All marcasites are intact and the faceted amethysts show no wear or damage. Circa mid-century, this Antonio Pineda cuff is a book-piece design shown in "Silver Seduction: The Art of Mexican Modernist Antonio Pineda".
