Margot van Voorhies was married to Antonio Castillo and they opened Los Castillo where Margot became well known for her designs. After a divorce she opened her own taller Margot de Taxco. This is design number 5213 the hearts. You see this design with glass or amethyst centers but this one is a rare sterling dome. The length is 15 inches and is 1 1/8th inches tall. The links are without damage and is properly hallmarked as shown. A treasure of collector quality, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE.

A vintage silver, probably sterling, brooch with a carved carnelian cabochon. Measures 2" long and 1 1/2" across. Marked with what looks like the stylized initials 'ES'. The cabochon has 5 small drilled holes. We are not sure what the purpose was. Has a 'C' clasp that holds securely. Has a little tarnish. Very pretty design.

Doris Silver was a shop in Taxco during the Spratling era. She offered her space to craftsmen to produce quality and stunning jewels. This necklace is very heavy repousse with a wearable 17in. long with it's widest point being 7/8th in. The patina is naturally dark and thick. The design is floral with twisting and turning vines. Hidden within is a drop of 2.5in. across and 2 in. tall. I have never seen another like this one. No damage, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

A vintage, modernist sterling silver ring designed by Pentti Sarpaneva for Turun Hopea Oy of Finland. Design measures 1 3/8" long and 1" across. Ring measures about a 4.5 now. Marked with the intertwined TH for Turun Hopea, Crown mark for Finland, 830H for silver standard, Town Mark for Turku and date code which looks like L7 for 1964. Nice weight and condition. Great design.

This disc pin features a large faceted citrine in a bold prong setting. The stone has a light yellow-brown tinge and shows no signs of damage or wear. It is quite secure in its mount. The disc has a warm patina from age; the piece dates conservatively 1960-1970. The back has a secure rollover clasp and bears the marks for Mexican silver (eagle 42, circular 925 Sterling) as well as the maker’s mark for Los Ballesteros. There appears to have been a pendant bale or hook that has been removed...

This handmade ring features a substantial domed top of cross-hatched openwork and an adjustable band. It dates around 1960-1970, and bears the marks of husband and wife designers Else Berntsen Hughes and Paul Hughes, including the H mark for their workshop, Studio Else and Paul. We have a Matl Salas, gold wash, and snake bracelet to match a Matl snake necklace also listed on our site. The length is 8in. long but fits like a 7 in. bracelet because of it's width of .75in. and depth of the weave. The hallmark shown has a worn S and M and is also photographed on it's curved surface. These snakes are a time consuming work as they are hand woven with silver wire. All coils are present and beautifully spaced. The weight is 76 grams heavy.

Evoking a sophisticated and cosmopolitan look, this Italian silver bracelet features five textured curved rings linked by bars inlaid with strips of turquoise enamel. The secure fold-over clasp bears marks for .800 silver and the city/date mark of Arezzo, 1944-1968. The maker’s numeric mark is not fully legible. These delicate-looking, lacy links are actually form quite a substantial chain necklace. The links have a clever twist, but still lie nicely when worn. A jump ring at the end bears largely illegible marks, but one appears to have a European shape. The chain tests strongly for silver, with a content of at least .800. The spring-ring clasp may have been added later. The chain measures 24 inches long by ½ inch wide. Weight: 27.3 grams

This bracelet was signed and crafted by Enrique Ledesma with obsidian stones. Ledesma was known during the Spratling era to be expert at the stone inlay work. This bracelet is one inch tall and 7 inches. long. There are no cracks, dents or repairs as it has been a well cared for treasure. The weight is 68 grams heavy and shows itself with a rich presence that can be worn with anything.

Los Ballesteros is known for quality and has designed this filigree and green stone beauty. This is an exceptional grouping of stones with fantastic color and marbling of the matrix within the stones. So well taken care of with no damage anywhere on this bracelet. The weight is 107 grams heavy. There is a height 1in. tall and an inner diameter of 2.25in. which will fit most.

This beautiful, large brooch / pin measures 2 1/4 x 1 1/4. It is in gold tone and marked J.J. for the Jonette Jewelry Company, founded in 1935 in Providence, Rhode Island in 1935. This piece: however, is circa 1960's. It is in excellent condition. It also has good heft.

Rafael Melendez worked for Spratling when he first opened his taller de las Delicias. Melendez left to open his own Taller in 1939. This is one of his earliest marks that was done in 980 silver. Some of the Silver repousse links have Matl like glyphs. The silver sets up the onyx stones in the cross giving it great depth and dimension.
