This very Victorian grooming chatelaine is from the 1800s. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements: a tweezers, one for cleaning nails, and an ear-cleaning device. (We saw a similar chatelaine on eBay, and the ear-cleaning implement was advertised as a device for opium users, but we don’t think so! However, as non-opium users, we could be wrong ….) It is unmarked but tests positive for silver, and with a patina consistent with age...

From the same estate, a gorgeous pair of green poured glass necklaces with graduated beads simulating Indian moghul emeralds, with early box clasps. 1930s, French. This Mexican sterling tiger eye & serpent pendant has a large honey-colored tiger eye cabochon in the center. This cabocho is bezel mounted. It is hallmarked "POM" in a Taxco 925 Mexico circle with a separate Eagle 1 assay stamp. It is in super fine condition. This pendant is 1 1/2" square. The bail adds 1/2" to the overall length. The tiger eye cabochon is 7/8" in diameter.

A very attractive pair of Victorian 14K yellow gold bean-back cufflinks finished in the softly bloomed “Russian” finish popular in pieces from the Art Nouveau era. The oval faces are simply finished with a beaded border and are star-set with small round brilliant cut rhodolite garnets. A fine pair of French Art Nouveau 18K yellow gold cufflinks in the form of sinuously curved griffins. Mythological creatures such as griffins and dragons were a particularly popular subject matter for French jewelers of the era. The creatures are finely worked with excellent detail to the scales and other features. The chain connectors are fully hallmarked with French 18K hallmarks and with an unidentified maker's mark.

The pendant measures 2 1/4" long to the top of the bale and 2 1/2" across. Chain is 22" long and has a spring clasp that holds securely. In fine condition. Interesting contrast of the top shinier edges to the darkened patina of the rest of the pendant.
