A beautifully painted watercolor titled on reverse backing "After the Storm/Point Vicente" painted in 1998 by the noted California illustrator artist BOB DOUGHTY (1924-2011). The subject is the lighthouse at Point Vicente not far from Long Beach and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The 13" by 20" watercolor " (22 1/4" by 29" framed, behind Plexi) is in excellent, fresh condition, the colors vivid, though the mat should be replaced with a fresh one...

unsigned gouache “SS Ile de France measuring 18x22” The SS Île de France was a French ocean liner that was built in Saint-Nazaire, France, for the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (or CGT, also known as the "French Line"). The ship was named after the region around Paris known as "L'Ile de France", launched in 1926 and commenced her maiden voyage on June 22, 1927...

Sold together as a **PAIR**, two watercolor paintings, each signed "BUZZI", one measuring 13 1/2" by 9", the other slightly larger at 14 1/2" by 9" (both 23" by 16 1/2" as framed), the subject two ladies going about their daily activities, dressed in 19th century garb. Condition of both is excellent, with fresh color, and no foxing/staining. The artist is most likely by listed artist Achille Buzzi or possibly Arturo Buzzi.

A late 20th century watercolor painting , 10 1/2" by 14 1/2" inside the mat, 14 1/2" by 18 1/2" in gold framing, the scene three figures in front of a walled house, the figures with loads carried on heads or in traditional pole baskets. There are two red chop marks at lower right. On the reverse is a rubber stamp of Suvida Frame, and Thai lettering. The poetic work is clean and highly decorative. Allow for reflections in a few images.

A fine circa late 19th century watercolor painting of one of the famous narrow canals of Venice, Italy, the canal offset by sun-washed buildings, signed at lower right by listed Italian artist LUIGI LANZA (1860-1913). The work measures 7" by 11 1/2" inside the mat and 13 1/2" by 17 1/2" simply framed. A circa late 1940's to mid 1950's gallery label from Chicago remains affixed to the backing. Indian painting of the goddess Shailaputri, in unique Navaratna style of painting from 1930s, when Indian was emerging with its own unique style of painting. Gouache delicately painted and encoded with symbols of Hindu spiritual meaning. Crescent moon is on her forehead with halo around her head. Watercolor on paper board by Lloyd Ray Ney. Ney - 1893 - 1964, b. Pa., lived in New Hope, Pa. 1925 - 1964. Studied - Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, winner of the Cresson Prize, WPA commissions, his non-objective paintings were included in 15 years of exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum [ 1947 - 1955]. This work is in very good original condition, frame is original, and measures app. 19" X 25", signed Ney,'61.

Circa 1960's drip painting on paper, 22 1/2" by 18", unsigned, mounted to a thin board. This is not a Jackson Pollock or Sam Francis, but it is a work of art and it has age. The thin paper is glued down at least at the edges and possibly in the center as well. The paper is browned where it has been under the mat for many years, (about 1 3/4" to about 1/2") and there is puckering where the paper has been glued...

At first glance most would think this a print, but it is guaranteed to be an original drawing. The work on paper, measuring 22" by 18", and 27" by 23" in contemporary gold framing, is signed at lower left in a flowing signature "Petzoldt", followed by "Mchn. 28" (Munich, 1928). The handwriting of the signature and overall nineteenth century appearance of the drawing suggests this could be 1828, but the paper would definitely appear to be of the 20th century...

Watercolor on paper of a street in the French Quarter of New Orleans, I think Pirates Alley, 19" by 13" inside the mat and 28 1/2" by 22 1/2" as framed, signed discretely at lower left near the fence by the listed New Orleans artist TOM LANE (1916-1991). Lane was born in Toledo, Ohio but became a familiar figure in the French Quarter, painting in oil and watercolor the familiar and much-loved scenes frequented by tourists...

A PAIR of watercolor paintings framed as one, in black and white, each signed lower corner "CC" or "LL", likely late 19th century or early 20th. Each measures 2 1/4" by 3 1/4" (12 1/2" by 9" as framed). There is no information inside on the identity of the talented artist. Silvery frame and hand drawn mat makes for a very elegant little piece.

A vintage watercolor by an unknown amateur artist, titled at bottom "Santa Barbara Mission", unframed, measuring 14 1/2" by 11 3/4".
