Watercolor on paper painting of a traditional Bermuda home, luxuriant tropical vegetation partially obscuring it, 9 3/4" by 14" (19" by 24 1/2" as framed), signed at lower left in pencil by artist Charles G. Long. There is no date but I would imagine this pre-dates 1940. The handwriting suggests that the artist was English or Bermudian. In this simplistic but expressive study, a girl with soulful blue eyes stares directly at the viewer while wearing a large yellow hat with flower. An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon depicts the most central event in Christianity, the Nativity of our Lord Christ.

The icon is finely hand-painted in bright colors and gold on gesso on a wood panel. It depicts Baby Jesus laying in the cradle in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes, with a Bethlehem star shining from above, flanked by the Virgin Mary and St Joseph.

The upper left part is painted with three kings on horseback traveling in search of Jesus...

A strong watercolor on organic wafer portrait of a British staff officer. With his mutton-chop whiskers, he is dressed in the well-known red jacket, and sports gold epaulettes.
