Signed and dated within the plate. The image measures 5 7/16X8 5/16 inches. It is printed on a thin Japan paper which is rare. This is the only known state before the plate was cancelled. An example of the etching "The Complete Angler", by the noted English artist credited with creating the so-called "Etching Revival" of the latter 19th century, FRANCIS SEYMOUR-HADEN (1818-1910). The print is signed in the plate and lower right and dated there 1877, but was likely printed in the year 1880, in an edition of 1000. Measurements are 6 1/2" by 8 3/4" inside the present mat and 12 1/2" by 14 3/4" as framed...

Peter Moran, American, 1842-1914, "Through the Meadows". This is a beautiful, richly inked original etching by Peter Moran, image size 13 x 19 7/8 inches, published in 1886 by Klackner. It is state IV/IV, cat: Wright-92, pencil signed and titled on the lower margin. This image is listed with the title "Through the Meadow Stream" in the Wright catalog, although there are several alternate titles including the one that appears on this impression.

Samuel Palmer 1805-1881 British This is an original etching by British artist Samuel Palmer. The title is "The Early Ploughman" It was created in 1861. The image measures 5 1/4X9 7/8 inches. THis is the 6th state of eight. Printed on a medium weight laid type paper. Partial watermark visible upper left. This image appears in the Palmer catalog as image number VII.

John Henry Hill, American, 1839-1922, "Two Men in a Sailboat in a Rough Sea". This is an atmospheric marine etching by J. Henry Hill, after the painting by Otis Weber. The image measures 14 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches, published in 1886 by Klackner, New York, pencil signed on the lower right margin. Hill came from a family of artists and became a well known landscape and marine painter keeping with the pre-raphaelite tradition, influenced by John Ruskin and David Johnson.

Armand Coussens French , 1881 - 1935 Coussens was a talented and prolific color etcher. He combined the techniques of drypoint and soft-ground etching for interesting and delicate results. He often depicted cityscapes or rural landscapes. Now examples of his etchings as well as his paintings can be found in major collections internationally. This work measures 11x16 framed measures 18x22” Peasant with Goats Soft ground etching

Jean Baptiste Camille Corot, 1796-1875, French, "Paysage d'Italie," Etching, image size 6 x 9 1/8 inches, cat: Melot- C.7, later printing without Cadart lettering, possibly after it was removed. This is a very nice impression with wide borders, printed on a medium weight cream colored laid type paper. This atmospheric image from Corot's series of Italian landscapes is a great example of his ability to capture the life and movement of the scene with loose spontaneous lines and rich tones.
