A circa 1920's etching of the Woolworth Building in New York City, the print signed in the plate and then pencil signed at lower right margin by American artist F.W.W. HOPPE. The artist did leave behind a number of etchings of New York scenes, but there seems to be a lack of biographical information on him or her. The print is in brown ink on a thin paper. Measurements inside the present mat (no glass) are 9 1/2" by 5 1/4" (14 1/4" by 9 1/2" in thin strip frame)...

This is an intricate aquatint print, 25 3/4" by 29 3/4" (34" by 27 1/4" framed), signed in pencil at lower right by the artist and dated there "60", titled "Jeux d'ete" (Summer Games) at lower center, and numbered 76/210 at lower left, the work by GUILLAUME CORNELIS VAN BEVERLOO, best known by the pseudonym "CORNEILLE" (the French word for "crow"). I believe I was able to locate only one example of this particular print having sold at auction since 1998...

Original, very scarce (edition of 30?) unframed 1909 etching known as "Pittsburgh, no. II", signed at lower right center in pencil by the important American etcher, illustrator, critic, author and teacher JOSEPH PENNELL (1857-1926). Evidently, Pennell himself printed this particular example as "imp" is written after his name. The sheet, heavily trimmed at three sides as seen, measures 9" by 12"...
By the highly important German impressionist and expressionist artist LOVIS CORINTH (1858-1925) is this soft-ground etching, 9" by 6 1/2" inside the present mat, the size as framed 20" by 15 1/2", titled "Portrait of Hermann Struck", signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right margin and by the printer Heinrich Wetterroth at lower left margin (along with other difficult to decipher information, written in fine pencil), and dated in the plate at upper right "1911"...

This is an original etching by well known Swedish artist Anders Zorn. The title is: Dal River, created and printed in 1919. This impression measures 7X4 5/8 inches, printed on a medium weight laid type sheet. hand signed in pencil lower right. This image appears in the Asplund catalog as image number 284. One of his series of nude bathers that he is well known for.
Etching titled lower left margin "The Chain Gate", signed at lower right margin "John LaFarge". The work, 4 1/4" by 5 3/4" inside the mat opening (8" by 10" simply framed) does NOT appear to be by the famous American artist John LaFarge (1835-1910), though a previous owner wrote on the backing information suggesting that it is by that known artist. It might be difficult to ascertain the identity of the John LaFarge who signed this; John La Farge's youngest son, John La Farge Jr...
